3hints. Italian designer is also known for other aircraft in that part of the world (those aircraft were not candidates for the title most streamlined designs) in that part of the world and the manufacturer produced a couple of other aircraft. The country's soccer players wear green/yellow outfits
Well thanks for the BIG hint, Wout ! (Looking in all the wrong places as usual)
I think we must be talking about Mr Luigi Pellarini here, designer of the notorious Transavia Airtruk, and that's where I am beginning to get confused.
My first reference to this aircraft is as the Victa R.2, from New South Wales, whose designer was one Henry Millicer.
Somewhere along the line it morphs into the Transavia PL13, but maybe Victa built it under commission ?
I have also seen a PL-13 described as the Pellarini Air Jeep, a military sesquiplane, but can find no info or photos anywhere.
Aussies please help !
Left, this is for the correct answerand this is the bonus
As far as I understand the Victa R-2 was a design of Luigi Pellarini. I am not familiar with the role of Mr. Henry Millicer in the R-2. Of course Mr. Millicer designed and built the original all-wood Airtourer and this was in metal form later built by Victa Ltd and then the design emigrated to New Zealand.
During his Australian years Mrf. Pellarini was quite active.
First the PL-7 Tanker of Kingsford-Smith, then the PL-11 Airtruck (with a c) of Waitomo-Bennet in New Zealand and of course the PL-12 Airtruk (without c) in which Mel Gibson escaped from unfriendly peoplel.
The Pellarini Skyjeep was (as far as I know) never flown, but attached a picture. In his Italian days Mr. Pellarini was also responsible for the PL-5 Aerauto
Attached some pictures, just for fun
PS to Pellarini.
Maybe the Victa R-2 was designed by Mr. Millicer. It seems that Transavia (Australia) had plans for an improved R-2 as the PL-13.
Very interesting indeed, Wout - the mystery Air Jeep at last !
There is a long and fascinating NZ thread on the Airtruk here

My confusion was not helped by this entry from the 1966/7 Jane's.
Anyway, thanks for the beers - new mystery coming along in a minute...

OK, certain persons will be suffering withdrawal symptoms if we don't get a twin-boom pusher in here soon - how about this one ?

Dear oh dear, I suspect this has been trawled from the depths of Aerofiles - never seen it before.
Mind you it is ugly enough to qualify for French nationality.......
I'm feeling generous today. Here is another view.![]()

Looks like a cross between a DH Dragon and a fruit bat.
Don't want to tip my hat just yet. Not a fruit bat though...
