    After 9 Years

Its been 9 years since I set up my recording studio.
Here is the first demo, note it is not the final cut, just a rehearsal to get me writing again.

I am still at a loss for words, lol and could use a poet to be a part of this new project.
    Help Welcomed, lol

anyway here is "Where Buffalo Roam"

Ickie, the way that squirrel is downing that brew, it's no wonder yer at a loss fer words. LOL

The only poets I know are Shakespeare and Longfellow. But the only word they want used in a poem is Timbuktu.

    Hey All,

Ickie - Keep at it. I really like it and my 15 year-old heavy metal lovin son says he could teach you some double time or faster riffs to fit in there in places (he was showin me). Sigh why is it at 15 it's all about how many notes you can play and not about the right note at the right time. Anyway this song start has a really good feel to it for me.

last night I re-wrote it with a new rift
    today I will re-record it.

I really like it and my 15 year-old heavy metal lovin son says he could teach you some double time or faster riffs to fit in there in places
at 58 I am moving as fast as I can, lol

I used a Gibson Les Paul for rythem and leed,
today I will use a USA Strat and Les Paul for the leed. I will do 2 tracks for leed.

I will also dirty up the Gibson EB0 Bass.

I will make the vocals wet. (I sure wish I had more than 1 verse)

You've got a nice little home setup there Ickie....bravo!

I am a former recording studio engineer (with credits on several commercially released CDs) and I also taught Professional Sound Recording classes at College level in the UK. We will shortly be making a small move here (we live in the bottom half of a duplex but will soon have the entire house to ourselves) and that means I will finally be able to have a dedicated 'music room' for all my instruments and I hope to get into home recording too.

There's another flightsimmer who is a musician/songwriter and that's Jordan Moore over at Hovercontrol. I have a pile of MP3's he sent me a couple of years ago that he recorded.

I can't post them here but the music in his demo video for his Blackhawk is one of Jordan's original songs

Take my love, take my land, Take me where I cannot stand.I don't care, I'm still free. You can't take the sky from me. Take me out to the black, Tell them I ain't comin' back. Burn the land and boil the sea. You can't take the sky from me. There's no place I can be.
Since I found Serenity. But you can't take the sky from me...

i recently bought a used strat and a small fender amp off of craig's list because i miss playing, and the wife's accoustic was like driving a dump truck through a slalom course. it's depressing to see how far my skills have degraded in the last 20 years. i'm starting to wonder if some of it was in my head
