F1: Time for the first night race!

The street circuit of Singapore will host the first ever night race in Formula 1 this weekend!
Let's hope it will be a more interesting race than the race in Valencia was..

Fingers crossed it's a good race. Have to admit the circuit does look impressive. Button actually looked like he had a prety good practice sesssion today, and Williiams weren't far away of the pace.

    Cool

I had to laugh at one of James Allen's incisive comments.
Something about showing off Singapore to the rest of the world ..... it looks like any other city at night!
    Bumpy circuit into the bargain.

He had a bit of luck with the first safety car, but still a great job by Fernando Alonso!! Great job by Rosberg and Williams too, even with the stop&go penalty!

The fourth DNF in a row for Kimi, and it seems the Ferrari pitcrew don't want to win anything this year..
Hamilton got the points back from which he was robbed in Belgium.

Very well done Alonso... That was very much deserved. Got to say that I'm glad to see natural justice served to the Ferrari team, although I do feel sorry for the mechanics that were hit by the problems - again - with their release system. Raikonnen's last stop was controlled by a board man, I was glad to see.

Rosberg did superbly, managing to get an entire stop/go in and only lose one place. It's really nice to see different cars up there - it's just a pity that it took the situation that happened to allow it.

Now... How can the F1 hierarchy manage to turn that list of finishing positions around, I wonder?

Well im sure there will be some new training within the ferrari pit crew this week - 100m sprints.. They didn't look the most nimble running down the pit lane!

Good race by Alonso, great to see him back on the podium. Vettel done well although there was hardly any coverage of his race at all!
Rosberg was my driver of the day.

Another great job by Kimi finding yet another wall to leave his ferrari in,,

    Well, I liked it!

Would have preferred the man on the second podium had won. But it was a much better street race than that slot race in Valencia. The lighting was really nice.

I like Massa and it was Ferrari's fault for his mishap; that light went green and he left, that's all a driver's eyes are keyed on. It cost him the race, possibly the Championship and may have cost Ferrari the manufacturer's title.

BTW there's a wip version of the Singapore track for GTR2 available here:

    http://www.esport-racing.de/include....cec5351006a075

The layout looks good, but the lights are not looking so great and there's a bit too much 'green' sround the treack IMHO. Still, it's a pretty good track to race on! Had a bit of fun there with the F1-2008 mod, although the AI drivers kept hitting the wall on the inside of the turns.

....went to bed last night and recorded the race
(half expecting a win by one of the usual 3) , so didnt watch the race in the morning but mosied over to ITV-F1 to check the highlights and jumped out of my seat when i found FERNANDO had won(from 15th on the grid And a gutting qualification) with a shrewd piece of tyre strategy
...(great to see one of my all-time favourite F1 drivers on the pod again)
...RENAULT CHANGE YOUR COLOR SCHEME BACK TO BLUE N YELLOW
same as FERNANDOS-ASTURIAS home colors.... much better n destinctive look
    .
. ive just finished watching the race now
    ... FERRARI BLACK SUNDAY
....bad luck(he ended 13th) and organization for FELIPE .
......must be hard when ya have SCHUMIE breathin down yer neck plus incompetentcy lurking in your pit crew

.....kudos fer all for a great first night race
