Yep, things WERE lookin' great, then I updated the BIOS and now it won't go into windows again because of a corrupt or missing hal.dll file in the windows/system directory, lol, lol.Yeah... what he is saying goes for me as well! See.... told ya things would work out for ya!

Try going in there in safe mode! Should work!
And a good hal.dll file can be found here: http://rapidshare.com/files/220427822/hal.rar
and the correct directory for Xp users is c:\windows\system32.

Well, I did some searching on the other computer and found some info that said to be sure you're booting from the correct drive (I have two internal HDD's and one external). . .sure enough, after switching boot drives. . .I'm back in windows again. I had XP on the other drive from a very long time ago and apparently enough of it is left over to give me that error.
This has definitely been a learning experience!!!:rapture:
