they are also the same .mdl as the AvH B-17, ...so you can just use the skins on the 1% bird.
(That's what I do, ...ACM of course...)
I found these at Simviation. They're fairly well detailed and are very FR friendly. With a bit of tweaking they make nice AI, good for big bombing raids. They also have a panel and a basic VC.
But you'll need to remove gunstation.9 from their DP's, or they will drop clusters of what look like orange spears every time they fire their guns. When a flight of them start firing their guns without this fix, they will slow CFS2 down to a crawl and maybe even crash it. But get rid of the orange spears and you've got yourself a pair of the best AI-quality B-17's I've seen, and I've checked out a lot of them.

Ettico, were they the whole plane or just repaints??
that's my old B-17 (I'm purty sure anyways), no ones asked to upload it.
not that I really care, just curious

They are complete planes, Sir.
Nicely done, I might add. Thank you very much !
BTW, the only error I could find in the DP file was a duplicated 1,000lb bomb load...

Yeah, purty sure that's it. Especially if it's the same as the 1% fortress. They're old as dirt, an were the second plane I'd ever made. sc7500, think ya might be strechin it alittle when ya say "nicely done" ,LOL. Reckon they're not to bad for AI's tho

Well, Gramps, if that's your bird, then you have the distinction of having built the best AI-quality B-17 I've ever found.:trophy: Really, all you left out was a DVC, fancy paint job, and poor frame rates usually found in the high end models.
I don't know what the deal was with those orange spear thingies. Every time I triggered the guns a cluster of them would fall out and head earthward, soon to disappear with no other visible effects. In missions, they would all start dropping the things when they fired at attackers. I figured out that gunstation.9 was causing them and deleted it from the DP.
I put a stick of AI bombs in them. Now I'm going to look for some skins to expand the fleet.
Yep, that's my ol bird. Here's the original, been right here at the OH the whole time, lol.
