    Supermarine Walrus ASR

    I need some aircraft gurus to take a look at the only Supermarine Walrus I know of for CFS2 and see what you can do with her.
    She is a modification of Mike Stone's FS9 by several of our guys here in the basement.

    This mod is by Budha13, B24_Guy, Talos2005, Bearcat241, Old Wheat, and others, the current BPF skin is by Uncle Tgt.

    The front gunner's feet protrude out the bow of the aircraft but if I move him back so his feet fit inside he is not properly seated in the gunner's ring.

    This was a great conversion back when it was done, but we have come a long way since then with CFS2.

    I don't want to sound as though I do not appreciate all of the hard work the above guys did to get a Walrus into CFS2, because I do appreciate their work and time.

    That said, I think even they would agree it needs some major updating to keep it current.

    How about it? Is there anything which can be done to update her to the 21st century CFS2?

    By the way: I took off from and softly & safely landed back on HMS Victorious with this aircraft.
    She flies like a big slow airworthy ASR plane. So there are some things done right with her.

    So do you need a pilot/gunner with out legs? I can make some from the stock CFS2 pilot/gunner models.

    Allen,
    Yeah, the front gunner on her.
    It is only his feet that stick out through the skin.
    He looks like Fred Flintstone stopping the big bird.

    I don't know if you or UncleTgt can lengthen the bow a bit to solve the problem or if your idea of a legless front gunner is best.

    Here is a forum post from 2007 about this very problem, hope it helps.

    Try using Oldwheat's 'Front Gunner' weapons load that he designed for this kind of thing. It's in the library somewhere. You'll also need to change the position of the hardpoint that the front gunner is attached to like so:

    Open the dp file.

    In the 'hardpoints' section look for mount.20 and change it from this:

    mount.20=0,-0.28,4.0

    to this

    mount.20=0,-0.28,4.4

    In the 'Payloads' entries change each instance of -

    mount.20=Us_pilot, 1, -1

    to this

    mount.20=front_gunner, 1, -1

    That should do it as you can see from the screenie.

    hope this helps.

    Guys,

    I'm confused, Front Gunner or Rear Gunner?

    There is a reason my dp calls for RAAF_front_gunner

    http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforum...id=17&id=19494

    It's just Oldwheat's Front Gunner in tropical uniform, to match Bismark 13's RAAF crew. (RAAF_pilot, RAAF_gunner)

    UT,
    Yes, front gunner. I forgot to install your RAAF back when I got the skin you sent.

    Of all the things I have ever lost, I miss my mind the most.....

    Even so, when I installed your crew, the pilot/co-pilot were sitting in front of the wind screen.
    Must have been former bi-plane pilots.....

    But, I now have figured our how to get everything working right except for the panel.
    It has 2 magnetic directional gauges in the same place.
    I have to look in the panel config and see which two occupy the same space.

    Okay,
    It had a Cessna VOR1 gauge in the same location as the Wildcat magnetic compass gauge.
    Did away with the Cessna gauge.

    Now, take a look at flying straight and level.......What is wrong with this picture?

    No matter what I do with the stick, my ailerons are stuck in a hard bank to starboard, even though there is no effect on the aircraft.

    Looks like a MDLC didn't fix the ailerons. Will have to be SCASM edited by some one.
