    New GTX 970 Installed

Well, after sweating whether or not it was going to fit, it slid into the space nicely and only required a few cables to be rerouted to give it extra breathing room. Running very quiet and temps, even during the first run in P3D, were in line with what my 650Ti had been with sliders set almost at max. I was very happy with what I saw initially as far as overall appearance of the textures and autogen. I can definitely see the difference and things like the blurries have gone. . .I didn't notice any stuttering and the vegetation "looked" more realistic both in color and general appearance. So far, so good.

The 900GTX series are some big cards. I was in awe when I first took my 960 out of the box and put it next to my
GTX460. (this thing is BIG) Glad I got a monster tower (CoolerMaster) and had no problem with it fitting in just had
to adjust my cables a couple inches.

Yea, I'm happy with the purchase. Knowing the CPU and probably the motherboard should be updated at some point, but this was needed more for P3D.

Good to hear it worked for you, Ed, which was somehow predictable if I may say so. I also think the 970 type GPUs give a lot of power for the buck and are a very good match for P3D.

    Cheers,

    ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 Founders Edition (Base:1607MHz,Boost:1733MHz), 8GB GDDR5X (10,000Mhz), PCI-E 3.0, DVI-DL, HDMI2.0b, 3x DisplayPort 1.
I have NO idea what the 'Founders Edition' means, but at A$1249.00 it's not as expensive as some!

But I'd like a pair of them in my new build!

    Hey Dave, how ya doin'?
I bought the Asus Strix GTX 1080 non overclocked edition from NewEgg for $669 plus tax and shipping...total $728. Right after I purchased mine they went up $30. Ebay scalpers were getting well over $1000 for these Strix 1080's.
    Happy flights,
