Beautiful repaints - only (since these are all right side shots) the swasticas are all turning the wrong way. other than that I find these true pieces of art. How far we have come since the introduction of this old sim. You have made every rivet and every scratch visible - great job.

Looks great. I've always liked the Bright paint on the 109s. It reminds me of the WWI fighters.

    Gius,

You did do a great job on this, but it looks like the tail fin could use some work. Good catch, Finn!

    Icon14 Beautiful!

    Ciao Giuseppe,

works of art indeed, my friend!

    THANK YOU!

I only have a comment to make about the screenshots you posted: due to the solid spinner I see, the model looks like Mauro's E-7 version:

    http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforum...id=54&id=16474

    Mauro's Bf109E-4N, Adolf Galland model:

    http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforum...id=54&id=16488

displays the spinner with the typical hole, due to the possibility of mounting another 20mm cannon, firing through the prop hub.

It's not going to be a problem at all, because I think I remember both models share the same texture mappings. Therefore, these new repaints should fit Mauro's Bf109E-4N version without any flaw.

Thank you again, Gius: lavoro magnifico!

    Thanks for the appreciation Stefano,
i well know the difference beetween E4 and E7 version of the 109,
and i can assure you that all repaints are based on the MG_Bf109E4N, the model actually has solid spinner.
    Cheers,
    Giuseppe

I know Gius, you are absolutely right!

I have to admit I have a bug in my head. While watching your screenshots of Mauro's Bf109E with your new dresses, I must have confused it with the older IS4G's Emil, which shows clearly the pierced spinner.

The other possibility is that I recalled Mauro's Bf109E-3. My memory betrayed me also because I tend to prefer Aeroplane Heaven's Bf109E-4, since there are more historical repaints available for AH's model than for Mauro's version.Last night I took screenies of both Mauro's E-3 and E-4 models, attached below, amply demonstrating I was wrong.

Mauro's Bf109E-3 has the correctly shaped spinner, while Galland's "Black Chevron and Bar" Bf109E-4N shows a solid spinner like a Bf109E-7. I was also misled by the fact your screenies were all taken from the right side of the aircraft and I couldn't see the shape of the DB601 compressor air intake. Mauro's E-7 tropicalised version displays correctly the anti-dust filters applied to it, with a longer shape than the regular ETO air intake.

I never thought you didn't know the difference between the two Emil versions, your competence in aviation history matter stands above any doubt for me.
What I am doubting now is the soundness of Giacomazzi's E-4N model. I went back to my books, where I think I have most of the pictures taken of Adolf Galland's Bf109E airplanes he flew during the Battle of Britain. I could not see a single picture of any of those Emils with the typical E-7 solid spinner we find in Mauro's E-4N model.

With all of the above said, let me renew my thanks to you for giving me the chance of flying again Mauro's model which, basically, almost no one thought to repaint as you just did.

In fact, I only have it with its original Galland's livery.

    Cheers!
