I dunno. They pretty much showed everything in a long preview of the remake, which always concerns me when they do that. The actor playing #6 is the typical Hollywood type actor these days, pretty, skinny, and confused.

Looks wild. A desert now instead of a constantly raining little Island. Very interesting how they changed things..
The British actor in control seemed like an interesting foe also to deal with. A polished actor with some realism to his work.
Should be good. I can hardly wait. :d

I never saw the original and never would have guessed this was a remake ... lol. Oh well.

That's Jim Caviezel. He played Jesus in The Passion, which I thought at the time was a strange choice. I'm more interested in seeing how Gandalf does as Number 2. I'm willing to give the show a chance. I'll have to record it though. I'm REALLY looking forward to Colts vs. Patriots tonight.

Wild show!!!
My personal thoughts. He is dead. To many odd things were going on. I think he is on an alternate plateau, dimension, stuck..

This looks interesting. I'm a huge fan of the original.
BTW this old bearded man is wearing same clothes as McGoohan's character wore in the original series. Maybe he's the original number six:mixedsmi:
I hate remakes!
Having said that, I was quite impressed with last night`s offerings. Although the basic concept is the same, there are enough new details to make it fresh, and yet it keeps some of the tone of the original.. quirky vehicles, weird public service announcements, tacky music.. and some pretty odd people
I suppose it`s a result of the short attention spans these days but I did dislike the `sneak peeks` before every commercial break tho.. like people might not come back after ward.

One of the odd vehicles, the black minivans, are Russian made. I dont know about the taxi's though. I can only think they are also Russian or perhaps Swedish, though I just dont recognize them. They have rear engines. Cant be Italian though..
The busses I have no idea..
No Messerschmidt cars.. arrgh...
I love those towers in the background, whatever they are.

I haven't been impressed with some of the "re-imaginings" that Hollywierd producers have come up with of late. The wife and I were particularly disappointed with Get Smart and ended up playing with the cat (thank goodness we waited til it came on cable). We thought "Bewitched" was a disaster as well. I guess we fall into the "traditionalist" category when it comes to beloved TV shows... :mixedsmi:

McGoohan was asked to make an appearance (before his recent death) but refused, saying that he'd already done it once!

To me as a 15 year old in 67 it seemed very much of the 60s: surreal and Sgt Pepperish and all filmed in North Wales at Portmeirion, which was built to represent Italian style architecture many years before "The Prisoner" was created.

Thats interesting Roger.
In the new one, it almost looks like an area in America, like in Death Valley (that type of countryside) and one of those 1960 Route 66 (highway 66) types of hotel complexes (the A-frame mini houses).
That would have been wild if that were McGoohan in the first part. Whewww.... Only now escaping only to die. At least he would have died a free man..

I'm currently watching the original on blu-ray and can highly recommend it to anyone who has upgraded from DVD. The PQ is absolutely stunning.
I can also recommend a visit to Portmeirion if you happen to be in the vicinity of North Wales. I visited the place in the Summer. Very unusual, but well worth a visit, even if you are not a fan of The Prisoner

Okay, is this a series or did they just play the thing over and over again?
I caught bits and pieces of last night ... unfortunately I didn't catch it from the start so I've probably lost most of the connectivity of it already.
