Not a standard Il-10M, Jim, I fear.
Completely different cowl shape.
Rear fuselage much slimmer.
Wing shows distinct inverted gull shape - standard wing completely straight.
Undercarriage track much wider, (and wheels smaller).
Finally, and this the real killer - that ENORMOUS tail unit !
Standard Il-10M on left.
Il- 16 perhaps ? ( Gull wing , smaller wheels - larger tail ? )

(Stepping away from the IL-10 for a moment)...
The sport plane designer was best known for his basket-weave type airframes.
Under construction:
Something by Wickers-Armstrong ???
No, but the same kind of Wallis Barnes engineering on a smaller scale of course. The designer has appeared here before with a 1930's twin.

Thanks, but with 5cm of fresh snow on the ground here, may I opt for a hot toddy?
I thought this one had snuck in here before but it seems not, and not geodetic...

Ahh, the English Electric Kingston, N9709, after the fitting of the four-blade props which proved to be a bit of a mistake.
The extra power was too much for the engine struts - the upper wing gave way, and the engines, er, fell off !
you fully got it Mike, the English Electric P5 Kingston

Thanks Uli. Something out of my normal comfort zone - a gloomy jet -
'Commie' ? that's an expression I've not heard for a while ! Over to Texas
Thanks Mike.
Here is another post-war design.
I think this is the Aquaflight Aqua II which was later reused in building the Collins Dipper.
That was quick! For Robert.
For the record, on another site, Walter says that it was not reused to build the Dipper.

Interesting, Kevin. One of the rare occasions where aerofiles seems to be wrong.
Back to biplanes again.
