My first thoughts were Brochet. Then they were Salmson Cri-Cri. But neither precisely fits the bill.

About a dozen of the type were built as a trainer.
The company is probably best known for a two-seat trainer which held several speed records before and after the war.
One of these aircraft was the basis for an experimental jet built after the war.
