    Mosquito DZ518 627 Squadron

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category FSX Military skins - WWII

Description: This file contains alternative textures for the excellent free FSX model of the De Havilland DH.98 Mosquito B.Mk.IV, by Dave Garwood, Derek Palmer and Gary Jones. The model is available at the Classic British Flight Sim site (http://www.cbfsim.co.uk/CBFS_HOME.php ).

The textures are based on the original paintkit at CBFS and contain parts of the original artwork. My main goal was to create textures which made the model look a bit more used in a realistic way. The textures depict the aircraft DZ518 from 627 squadron as it looked in January 1944, when the squadron was located at Oakington.

The Mosquito DZ518 was built at Hatfield and served with 105, 618, 139 and 627 squadron. Despite a collision on the ground in autumn 1944 with a Lancaster from 617 squadron, it survived the war. However only to be demolished in October 1946.

I hope you will have as much fun using this repaint, as I had making it.

    Enjoy,

    Excellent repaint!

Only one thing and it would be perfect... add just the right amount of "shine" highlights... like the tip of the propeller hubs...
I realize it should be a flat color camouflage scheme... but still... just the right amount of "volumetric" highlights (ever so subtle) would be in order.. and
you get a "perfect" finish.. especially any glassed areas should reflect "some" shine... (I personally prefer to manipulate the paint job.. rather than
the alpha channel.. for it gives shine in unwanted parts...

Still, kudos on an excellent job...
