Jimmy Johnson doesn't lock the steering wheel on the spline shaft. The wheel comes off during qualifying and the car is wrecked. So upon leaving the medical center he tells a pit reporter "I don't know what happened, I'll have wait for the crew to figure it out". Seems he needs Chad's permission to tell the truth.

During Sunday's race JJ was complaining about a loose wheel, Chad had a hell of a time figuring out which of the five it was.
