I threw some paint on Allen's Birdcage Corsair

Been a while since I have done any painting, so I thought I would give this great model a try. Right now I am trying to figure out why I don't have textures on my pilot.

Excellent looking paint job, Brian. Its been a long time since I've seen your work. The last time I had that problem was when I painted up all those F-80's. The texture bmp had to be renamed. Don't know if this is it, just taking a shot. Or, the pilot textures have been alpha'd out.
Good to know you're still hanging around.

The model use the stock pilot textures. It should load the us_pilot_1.bmp and us_pilot_2.bmp from the CFS2 main texture folder (Combat Flight Simulator 2\TEXTURE).

Thanks guys! I had to rename the pilot textures from us_pilot_1.bmp to us_pil~1.bmp and us_pilot_2.bmp to us_pil~2.bmp. all is well now!

That means I did something wrong with the model. us_pil~1.bmp and us_pil~2.bmp are the 8.3 filename that are made when I converted the stock F4U into a .3ds for import into CFS2.

Once I gMax I should have renamed us_pil~1.bmp and us_pil~2.bmp to us_pilot_1.bmp and us_pilot_2.bmp. Sorry about this. No idea why my CFS2 is loading the pilot texture right. Attaching a model that will use the us_pilot_1.bmp and us_pilot_2.bmp like it should have.

Will update the main download next than update the Birt Mk.II clip wing Corsair as it has the same prob!

    RobH and Allen,

Great job on both the model and the paint job!
