Modified Flight Model to meet race rules. Note aircraft does have visible external tank using the "water rudder" key.

How do you open or use this file?
The attachments?
First, this site still downloads attached text, zip, etc. file types as "attachment.php". That's a bug in the SOH software someplace.
Rename the first file as "something.txt", and the second one as "something.xls". Then you can open them with the appropriate program. They are just files generated by the "flight test data grabber" that I made to make flight testing less tedious...

No the f7f file.
Oh. Sorry... Same drill, rename the downloaded file's extension to ".zip" and un zip it. Inside are the aircraft.cfg and f7f-3.air files. Save the originals and replace. It looks like Tom did his work with the "metal" version, so you'll have to adjust the [fltsim.0] and [fltsim.1] sections to point to the correct texture and models if you're using the other F7F-3 (the blue one). Or just copy those sections from the original aircraft.cfg.

Tested. FSX. Clear WX. KOSH. 800ft. Climb to 21500ft. 2-3200fpm.
392-394GS.
948-952nm total range.
Your test results mirror mine.
With WEP it should just touch 400 knots, don't forget as far as climb goes to unload ammo and weapons.
Yes, right on 400 KTAS if WEP is deployed once in the cruise. I usually use it straight away for the climb.
Could someone tell me how to make the drop tank visible on the new F7F-3 please? On the old model it was toggled on/off with the water rudder key, but on the new one that isn't working for me.

Is the WEP legal for the race?
Good to know.
Thanks Milton, good to know.
