FSX SE + FSX steam question

    Hi

I want to install FSX steam parallel to my FSX

So if I install FSX steam on my computer ( different hard drive) will that ruin my normal FSX installation as it will overwrite FSX config and such things?

    Thanks for an answer

    Roland

No, it shouldn't affect your current install. FSX-SE will detect that an existing FSX install is in place and create "coexistence" mode. Structures such as program data\Microsoft\FSX-SE and appdata\Microsoft\FSX-SE will be created.

The problems will likely occur when you try to install new add-ins. Your add-ins installers have to be compatible with FSX-SE (that is, aware of coexistence mode) or must have a way for you to point to the correct install location.

Some add-ons, such as the VRS SuperBug and TacPack are not supported at all in coexistence mode.

    Hope this helps.
