    Scratch Built Aircraft

    Hi guys...

Besides flying and making Adventure Flights in FSX I have been making wood scale model airplanes for over 50 years which account for over 400 models......Here are some of the lastest ones...

    A Breda 25....Regia Aeronautica Italiana 1934

    Douglas B-18 Bolo..1940

    Curtiss C-46.

    SM-79..1938 Flight Rome-Rio de Janeiro

Piaggio-32....Made from Photos and one Drawing.

You make a "pattern" and then with it "melt" transparent plastic over it.....or slightly cut out the glazing then fill it with the transparent plastic....other ways too...

Building your own vacform is not too difficult and is useful in more ways than you'd imagine.
I knocked mine up (Himmel!!) about 1993 and it's still a vital piece of my workshop.

gera, your modelling is a lost art these days, takes me back to my dad and his skill with Obechi and Balsa wood.
