    Vietnam for CFS2 Beta Release

    Hello All,

Because a few issues that I have to deal with over the next several weeks I have decided to release
the Beta Version of Vietnam for CFS2, I would hate to think that all the time was wasted on this project
if I did not at least release what has been compiled.

Warning: This is intended to be a totally Separate install of CFS2 or it will not work. It will require a pot
of coffee or at least 3 beers to complete the install ( about an hour or so ).

Thanks to Al Simms, George Knowles, Martin Wright, Ken French, Phil Perrott, JustFlight LTD, Alpha Simulations
and many more.....I have been able to compile this great scenery that now includes 30 missions and 3 campaigns.

Me being only a "Mud Pusher" converted the missions to fit the scenery...But have yet to actually fly any of them.
Your testing will be much appreciated.

When you go to the page, the required downloads may seem overwhelming but they are not, most are simply drag
and drop or copy and paste.( 24 downloads )

Each download has an install readme, some have maps and others have a brief history in .jpg format.

Please note that although used with permission ,the copyright for the GSL scenery and missions is held by
JustFlight LTD. and can not be uploaded or used without express written permission by JustFlight LTD.

I can only hope that Ya'll enjoy this as much as I have had compiling and improving it.
I hope to have more coast lines, rivers and roads completed soon.

    check it out here:

Your additions, improvements or rants and raves are all welcome.

    Be safe my friends,

    Dave

    Looking Good No Dice!

I will keep an eye on your progress.

I called in naval gunfire and air support in MR-1 during my time there in ANGLICO.

Ah, Monkey Mountain!, spent a bit of time at the USMC barracks at the base of the radio re-trans station there.
Probably been across that bridge a few times heading back and forth to Danang Airbase.
Most of my time, though was spent at and north of Hue.

    Devildog73,

Dude I will take any info or story you have, I have a beer drinking neighbor that was in the marine corp at the time,
other than that I would love real info to post for mission and scenery writers.

I will be adding separate pages to the Vietnam page, history..pics..ect in the near future.

I am Starting work on the VTP scenery of the Ho Chi Minh Trail but have nothing ready to release for mission writers at this point.

I will be releasing some eye candy coast lines before I decide to " go under the knife or not".

Your historic input and advice will be much appreciated on the " Forgotten War"

You are more than welcome to contact me direct at dea14u@aol.com

    Nice SEA package No Dice,

If you would like a newer Alpha F-8, there's a conversion I started a while back that still needs a damage profile and panel work.
These could be finished to have a complete aircraft. Let me know and I'll get to work on her.

    Hello dmaloof,

As far as I know, the freeware Vietnam for CFS2 was never released. This is a conversion of Al Simms Vietnam scenery for FS2004,
combined along side my scenery and now includes (with permission from Flight 1 LTD) some formerly commercial GSL scenery
and missions that were converted to fit the new layout.

Of course all of the credit has to go to original authors of the Aircraft, scenery macros ect...

I hope you enjoy it, sorry that it takes so much to download and get it up and running...

I am presently working on land a water masks plus other additions to the Cam Rahn Bay area.

    Look for it soon.

PS, please do not add this to your existing CFS2 setup, make a new install or will mess what you have up.
unless you are willing to swap out the country config and other stuff each time.

It is released sir, will remain in beta forever, Its Freeware....
Beta is so people will hopefully always point out any problems or errors I have made.

And it will continue on...so long as people continue to download, submit projects or
I run out of space on the Free Flight Site.

You may have been thinking about a carrier product from Abacus publishing, no longer available
But I have had luck requesting older product from them, they will bend over backwards to help
    you out if they can.

Sure No Dice, i can do, but i'm gonna let DV finish his work since he volunteered first. I'll be happy to back him up with any finished components from my efforts that he may want to incorporate.

    Keep up the good work,

    CheerZ!

    ***************************

DV, i hit a snag on the left wingfold anima...right wing is good but no joy on the left. Can you look into it? I've only delved into the F8-DeathAngel mdl so far. Maybe you can find the handle.

    Thanks

    Sure Thing

Hey guys, sounds good to me.

As stated previously, I only have the death angel model completed. (same as BC)
All the weapons are removed in the mdl. The forward four point mounts remain along with the under wing mer pylons.
I was thinking of putting aim-9's on the forward four and ground pounding ordinance under the wings. (assorted)

If it's ok with you bearcat, I can email this model to you for further inspection.
The texture used in the screenshot was done by DaveQ They're in the FSX library.
Also already have permission from Phil @ Virtavia to upload the conversion. That was about a year ago but I'm sure it still stands.

Well, still at the salt mine right now so I gotta run.

    Till Later,
    Dave

    ND...

...for your ships, don't omit that there were numerous Gearing and Sumner class DD's that were FRAM I or II and a few Fletchers thrown in that comprised the Yankee station escorts and fire support. Some also were original WW2 configs.

    Hello Fibber,
It has been a while since we talked, I continue to add ships and more... Most are just static scenery, although landable.
I am working on learning more GSL scenery, Your input or scenery contributions will be much appreciated.

Super, duper, fantasticum, I have been looking forward in a lot of years to fly in "Nam",It is difficult to get used to need 50 miles to make a turn with a Phantom especially when used to fly a Mustang or Hurricane, but it is big thrill to hunt the MIG's ower a nice landscape. Thank You for a fantastic campaign.
