    Ran across something yesterday, No fault or foul to Just Flight software or any of the great developers that Allowed Me ( us)
    To use the missions of the formerly commercial software " Vietnam Air War". But as I slowly add scenery to some of the missions
    I find that ( for instance, the original Sams mission is not even close to North Vietnam)............. Although I am a simple mud
    pusher and know little about mission writing, I will start looking at the missions as I go along.

    Any input is much appreciated,

    Dave

    Dave, the zuni rockets and pods are currently available and do-able via CFS2 downloads, but you'll need to have someone create the minigun pods from scratch because no such thing exists at this time. Once done, you'll need to separate two dp versions, one with rockets and one with rockets and guns. As you may already know, this is because the guns will be set by permanent gunstations in the dp, so even without the visible gunpods, they'll still be active. The gun sound may also be a touchy issue. The 7.62mm mini Gatling sounds more like a burp gun that your standard CFS2 .303, 13 mm and .50 cal machine gun sounds.

    Hi Dave,

    Here are the full compliment of screenshots for the INFO folder for the two object library files. The original pictures were low resolution. Pictures for a couple of the bridges, a chimney and a high tension pylon were missing.

    Also included are two textures needed for one of the bridges and for the chimney.

    Thank you so much for the time and effort
    I will add them "with credits of course" to the download

    Rail bridges were a big part of the initial conflict and I am slowly working on the scenery for some.

    The sounds may be fixable as CFS2 dose have a number of gun sounds that I think are unused. The sound start with ai_**. I only know of the ai_40gun.wav being used for ships. That would leave 7 more sounds free to use.

    Its all fixable by replacing a rarely used stock gun sound with a modern Gatling sound. For example, since all 30 cal. aerial weaps were obsolete by the time of Korea and all of my WW2 Allied/Axis planes are removed which carried these weaps, for my Korea and Modern Era installs i renamed an A10 cannon (GAU8-Avenger) sound file to that of the .30 cal (.303) gun. To be exact, this involved renaming it three times to the following and overwriting the originals:

    CAN40.WAV ----> 303GUN.WAV
    XCAN40.WAV ----> xGUN303.WAV
    XCAN40.WAV ----> AI_30GUN.WAV

    So whenever i construct a new dp for any modern aircraft with a rotary cannon, i use the .303 guns option in DPed and i get the GAU8-Avenger sound. For a 7.62 minigun i would probably look around for something with a lighter sound than the Avenger.

    You're welcome Dave.

    Robert John and I are presently building Rome and I've already pressed one of the bridges into service.

    Are the downloads on your site available here at SOH as well? If not, it's not a problem - I'll just direct users to your site to get all the necessary scenery items.

    Hello Sir,
    I will have to say...most are not BUT some may be........
    If the artist uploaded it to the SOH it would be, but other than that probably not.

    Anybody ever ran across this problem ?
    Working on updating the Ham Rong Rail Bridge mission scenery, But it seems that
    FS Flatten will not make a flatten for me? I have had problems in the past with
    raising scenery but never lowering. I see no reason why I would have any conflicting
    scenery in the area.......... As I post this I think I will attempt the old way and see if
    I can hand do the flatten???

    Otherwise I will have wasted a week of spare time and just toss this mission project.

    Thank you all again for your support with this project.

    What am I doing? Some one needs to re-boot me. I've lost track. LOL

    Get me some drawings and measurements and I'll make what ever you need.

    The CH-47s are finished. I just need to do the Info pics and write up the readme. I'm still working on the Railroad tracks.

    As far as weapon packs go, I'm working on the sonobouys for the S-2 Tracker. I'm going to make the both horizontial and vertical drop. It will be nice for those sub hunting missions.

    I can add in a 7.62mm gun pod and the 20mm. If you can find the info. I don't have the time for research right now. I think there is a way to make it a self contained weapon. I have to look at some of my archives. I'll get back to you on it.

    Started work on the C-1 Trader again. It will take some time to re-gig things as the engines and tail are not the same as the S-2

    Think I have the C-1 done. Will have to check ingame... Had to use one of Milton Shupe's C-1 Trader or something of his from the C-1 Trader family as ref to see how the tail was made as I coundn't find a shot of the under side.
