Lima 07 has been released, although I am still having problems with Ground2k on this rebuilt computer,
I went old school, I think ya'll will still like it. I will now get to work on the local river near by, etc, etc.

    Well you've got more inbound.

    Next Up...

I think I'll have the Hueys ready soon. I've done the MedVac, Army and Marine set. There will be Static, Rotors turning, Flying 50m, 55m and 60m. Ooops I have to do a hover version as well. Would 10m off the deck be about right? or would 5m be better? DD I need your input here. Where is that Marine anyways.

    OH...

I've also done a crashed model. Need it for those SAR missions. I may make a CH-47 version carrying a Huey. If not it will be part of my helo payload pack.

    Ummmmm...

I think I'm getting carried away with the Hueys.

So what would have been 10 models has increased by a factor of four.

    8 MedVac-
Doors closed versions; Static, Rotors turning, Hover, Flying 50M.
Doors open versions; Static, Rotors turning, Hover, Flying 50M.

    16 Army-
Doors closed versions; Static, Rotors turning, Hover, Flying 50M, Flying 55M, Flying 60M.
Doors open versions; Static, Rotors turning, Hover, Flying 50M, Flying 55M, Flying 60M.
Assault Version with M60s; Static, Rotors turning, Hover, Flying 50M.

    16 Marines-
Doors closed versions; Static, Rotors turning, Hover, Flying 50M, Flying 55M, Flying 60M.
Doors open versions; Static, Rotors turning, Hover, Flying 50M, Flying 55M, Flying 60M.
Assault Version with M60s; Static, Rotors turning, Hover, Flying 50M.

    3 Crashed-
    Doors Closed, doors open, Assault.

    Thats 43 models in all.

    I think I've lost it.

Yea, Right. Anyone have some meds for that.

They are ment to be scenery. The vehicle versions are so you can have movement at the bases without worring about AI aircraft. Helos don't work very well as AIs. You can have these move and stop like they are hovering. Then have them move again. AIs can't do that.

I plan on doing a payload package for the Player and AI helos. First I have to do the jeep.

    Hueys... WOW too many...

    Hey All,

It looks like I'll have 42 models for the Huey. 15 Army, 15 Marine, 9 MedVac, 3 Crashed. There will be Closed and Open Door versions for all. The Army, Marines and Crashed models will also have the m60s in the doors. I have the Flying versions at 50 meters, 55 meters and 60 meters up. That should give some nice formations around the bases.

I'd like to do the LODs but this one is burning me out fast. I've remade the Main rotor three times now. Plus I made the M60s and the mounts from scratch. Thats after having finished every model with the second rotor version. I'll be very happy to wrap this one up.

    Dave,

I'd like to replace the tank track sound effect with a silent one. I have an Idea for the Hover and turning versions. We can create a looping Huey sound that can be triggered by events. I don't thing these should be added as GSL anyways. They should be added in the missions only. With the triggered sound we can make it so they are heard only when we want them to be.

Well thats the update for now.

    'til Later,
    John

    John,
The looping sound should not be a problem, but you are a far better mission writer than I, the triggers ??? I have no idea.

You use the event triggers. Just make it so that when the player AC enters the event bubble the sound is triggered. Since the hover and rotors turning versions are stationary, you will only hear the sound when you are in the bubble. We need to make the wave file last 30 to 60 seconds. I can try to make a looping wav file but I'm no pro at this.
