    John,

Let me get the business open and then I will have a look. so long as that is the only field you are having a problem with, should be a quick fix.

    Dave

John, check your email, I sent you a copy of my scenery config. I double checked the download and it looks right to me,

Tested Cam Rahn on my rig and all is good,

    To John and All,

I have noticed a problem for any of us that use Cell Grid for design, with all of my High alt scenery (High Mountain locations ect.),
I have to turn off Cell Grid in my scenery directory or else all the flatten codes seem to disappear and
your scenery ends up on top of a mountain, once turned off....all is fine ?

Maybe just my computer? I do not know ?

    Input appreciated

While looking for some info on ships I came across this.

The quality is poor but readable. I'm looking into a few of these.

    Stuart,
If you see this you might want to look it over. Its rather interesting.

    The lil Flotilla

So I've been making some small boats. I think I've gotten carried away.

There are thirteen in all. This pic only shows eleven. The other two are small sailboats.

    This one is motorized

    Sail up and down versions.

Yes that is a .50 Cal. Why? Because I can.

They are all based off of Al Simms Dhows. I have six that are 20 footers. As well as seven that are 50 footers. The green tops are VC boats. May not be historically accurate. They at least look the part.

Some are suitable for any WWII scenery from India to the Philippines. Though maybe not the one with the 50.

Here are the last two. I'm please with my sails on both of the sail boats. The little one looks good under way.

    Icon14 "Spads with a load"

    Beautiful stuff, folks!

Take a look at this link that our good friend Dave Brauneis, a.k.a. Jagdflieger, sent to me a few days ago. "Spads with a load", I think you will all enjoy it.

He's a Vietnam vet, he wrote me: " I saw 'em in action in Thua Thien Provence during my tour in Vietnam. They were just spectacular and they looked like magnets that had flown over a junkyard because they had so many bombs and rockets hanging from under the wings. Their radio call sign was "Sandy" so we called 'em either Sandys or Spads; the terms were interchangeable. They used the Wright R-3500 radial engine and it just shook the sky with its power. It was truly music of the most inspiring kind. Even Brahms would have enjoyed the big engine's base notes."

if I am correct, this Wednesday was Veteran's Day. Take it as a small homage to all veterans of all wars, a tribute to their sacrifices.

I just realized something the other day. I should have used the Red and Blue with the yellow star for the VC. I used the Red with the Yellow star. Thats for the NVA. Ooops. I'll have the correction later.

I'm working on the T-34/85 now. I'm doing 4 versions. 2 for WWII
    First one is Seybolts original
The other is from 1945 Berlin.
Next is for Korea. Its of the Chinese Type 58. If anyone has images of a Chinese Type 58 let me know.
Last one is the NVA Type 58.

Then I have the heavy equiptment to go with the M107 and M110.

So thats whats up for now.

That will make five versions. 2 WWII, 2 Korea, 1 Vietnam. They will all be destroyable. No LODs for now. I may add some later.

As a novice with GSL scenery, I have a maybe stupid Question

I am trying to add a runway at Khe Sanh, is there a way to adjust the width in mission builder,
or are you just stuck with the way it comes out

    The actual runway width? No.

Use FSSC or groundmaker to due a new one.

In the airbase.dat you can adjust the number of ACs lined up accross. I think you already knew that.

    John,
I ended up using Martins MKAFD2 program, it allows sizing of the runways

I used the CFS1 runway texture and then modified it, worked out great.

Now maybe I can get back to work on the rest of Khe Sahn.........

    Getting carried away...

I think I went a little over board with the T-34/85s. Do you remember how I said I was doing 5 models with different paints for the T-34/85s?

Well forget about that number. I've done 21 versions. Technically they are all the same model. Here is what I have finised...

    Russia - T-34/85 Model 1944's

"T3485_RU"=Soviet T-34/85 "CYBOBOP" ---- This is Seybolts original texture
    "T3485_RU1"=Soviet T-34/85 Model 1944 ---- Plain Texture
"T3485_RU1-lt"=Soviet T-34/85 (Turret Left) ---- Plain Texture with Turret turned left 45deg.
"T3485_RU1-rt"=Soviet T-34/85 (Turret Right) ---- Plain Texture with Turret turned right 45deg.
"T3485_RU2"=Soviet T-34/85 Berlin "CYBOBOP" ---- Late war Berlin Texture
    "T3485_RU3"=Soviet T-34/85 Berlin "k339" ---- Another late war Texture
"T3485_RU4"=Soviet T-34/85 Berlin ---- Semi-plain Texture with marks on roof to prevent friendly from Allied ACs.
"T3485_RU4-lt"=Soviet T-34/85 Berlin (Turret Left) ---- Same, turret left 45deg.
"T3485_RU4-rt"=Soviet T-34/85 Berlin (Turret Right) ---- Also the same texture, turret is right 45deg

    China - Type 58; Chinese made T-34/85s

"Type58_CN"= Chinese Type 58 "008" ---- As it says. Not sure about the history of this tank.
"Type58_CN2"=Chinese Type 58 1950 ---- Less markings in the texture.
"Type58_CN2-lt"=Chinese Type 58 (Turret Left) ---- Same as the other, has the turret facing left 45deg.
"Type58_CN2-rt"=Chinese Type 58 (Turret Right) ---- Again, same texture but has turret facing right 45deg.

North Korea - Type 58; Chinese built T-34/85s

"Type58_NK"=North Korean Type 58 "215" Seoul ---- North Korean Type 58 that was abandoned after leaving Seoul.
"Type58_NK2"=North Korean Type 58 ---- Plain texture in the same color.
"Type58_NK2-lt"=North Korean Type 58 (Turret Left) ---- Plain texture in the same color except turret is turned left 45deg.
"Type58_NK2-rt"=North Korean Type 58 (Turret Right)---- Plain texture in the same color except turret is turned right 45deg.

North Vietnam - Type 58; Chinese built T-34/85s

"Type58_VN"=North Vietnamese Type 58 1968 ---- For use in the Tet Offencive.
"Type58_VN2"=North Vietnamese Type 58 ---- Has less markings then the other texture.
"Type58_VN2-lt"=North Vietnamese Type 58 (Turret Left) ---- Same texture, turret is turned left 45deg.
"Type58_VN2-rt"=North Vietnamese Type 58 (Turret Right) ---- Same as the other, turrent is turned right 45 deg.

So as you can see I went a little wild with the textures. I'll post pics once I start to test them all.

    Hi No Dice,

Your very welcome from me and my part in it.
    The team would be,

Phil at Alphasim/Virtavia for allowing the conversion and also the air file. Partial weapons.
Allen from SOH for making the Zuni rockets. Multi-res too! Thamks Allen!
Bearcat241 also from SOH put together a fantastic panel config with CFS2 compatible gauges. Thanks BC!
DaveQ, another SOH member is responsible for the detailed VMF-235 Marine textures. A great improvement IMHO.

A big to all of them.
