Like I told Dice; I've just been keeping a low profile and been busy building PC's. (15 PC's in the past 10 months)

Good news (maybe?) ... I'm getting a new ISP & landline service installed this morning.
- I will then have UNLIMITED Long Distance in the U.S. and here in Cannabis-stan (new nickname as of yesterday due to the legalization of recreational weed)

Will show as LS CAM RAHN BAY in AF directory, redownload and let over write the original if downloaded prior to update.

The update extends the coast north to the Phouc Long Harbor and includes the inlets, bays and associated islands

Need help with Mission conversions

Operation Rolling Thunder:	Mission Conversion Project
	I am slowly Lining up the runways, changing the aircraft and getting everything to work in mission builder etc. It requires a lot of more work but This should be a great starting point for anyone that is good at mission building , I am not.....But I will have the scenery prepared. I am attempting to cure the "Frame rate Hog" at NV Chu lai, turning it into GSL scenery,plus trying other experiments.

I hope to have this done by the time the SOH makes the big move. I may be contacting a few of ya'll for advice
and or input or help.

Probably a stupid question: BUT...

After turning a BGL file into a scasm file, is there a faster way of finding and removing items other than scrolling down thru
1600 or so items...meaning is there a way to search the file for a given BMP and have them high lighted ???

I am trying to figure out if it may just make more sense to Delete the entire BGL and start from scratch rather than deleteing
one item at a time....LZ Montezuma and Duc Pho have almost 2000 API's that I am trying to replace many ( most) with GSL objects
to improve frame rates.

Hi No Dice,

I use (find and find next) when editing a SCASM file.
The prob. with SCASM is that the part uses the (SetMateral (X X ) Command.
If you know what texture and material the part uses then it is not too hard to find.
With that many obj. It might be easier to make a new BGL without the objects and then add them though the GLS.
That is if you have the objects as BGL's. Other wise you will need to convert the API's to BGL's. Something I have never done.

Starting from new may be the way to go, I will try your ( find and Find Next idea ...first)

I already have most of the GSL objects I need, I was just trying to save some of the API's in the scenery that I have not
converted , I am attempting to stay within the Object_DP limits of the sim and do not want to use all of them up on Southern
Vietnam because more will be required in the North.

Search for the word "NAME". Each object has a name so that is a universal search word to quickly scroll down through a SCASM file with many objects in it.

Thank ya'll both....This is already speeding up my process.

I was importing the Sca file into APT for windows and that was a mess.
Now I just edit the Sca file and recompile directly with Sca 296...works so much better and faster.

Easy install if you already have the original 01 and 02,
just take the contents of update 02 and install into org. 02, done

Includes a minimal amount of GSL scenery with areas left open for mission

The inlets and bays in this area are by far to many to show in a single pic.

Well as hard as I have tried , I have decided to replace the Duc Pho and VN ChuLia
sceneries totally with GSL. They are just way too much of a drag on frame rates.

You will be needing these for Duc Pho and more. I hope to release Duc Pho soon..
VN Chu Lia will take a bit of time.

Seems as if A total remake of the area will be required to take care of the Frame rate problem around Chu Lia.
My other attempts have failed. Working on and hope to release the Duc Pho area now and will progress north
to Chu Lia soon...

As I rebuild the Chu Lia area and change it to GSL Scenery It will be important to replace the Viet_landing and Vnchulia folders.
