    Dave,

    sorry for this late reply, but a million thanks for this Vietnam for CFS2!!!!

    I had dowloaded all of the materials you have posted in your Free Flight Site at the beginning of this year. I am a greedy collector of everything that was ever developed for CFS2.

    Am I all set or did you update something in the last months, that I should download again?

    Cheers!

    Hello Kelti,

    Yes ,
    Please re download the "To Main Scenery" Folder and the "VNChulai " Folder
    Let all over write, sorry about that but I found some texture conflicts, so
    each file must be replaced.

    http://www.thefreeflightsite.com/Vietnam_Projects.htm

    Being I know your expertise,
    Please note that the Aircraft required have had the DP updated to match the New Config File.

    Many of the others have not:

    [MISC_DATA]
    unit_family=1
    category=1
    allegiance=1
    max_group_size=8
    min_speed=480
    cruise_speed=912
    max_speed=1450
    min_alt=150
    cruise_alt=36667
    max_alt=54000
    crew=2

    Allegiance 1 = US Air Force
    Allegiance 2 = US Navy
    Allegiance 3 = NVA

    This is very important to mission writers.

    I hope for your input soon Sir,

    Thank you again, sir!

    The above means an entirely new country.cfg, wiped clear of all stock references. Roger!

    I guess ship dps will also have to reflect the new allegiance assignments.

    Cheers!

    Are you using USN for USMC aircraft?
    I called in a lot of Navy and Marine aircraft on close air support missions.
    Used a bunch of OV-10 Broncos as spotters with white smoke markers for the Cobras, F-4s and A-7s.

    Devildog73,

    Yes, USMC is navy, and Army falls under Air force,
    Please note that the " non_required Aircraft" on my site have not had the DP file updated to the new Country Config. file.

    Your input is very much welcomed, I Salute you Sir for everything you did in the Forgotten War.

    Soon to the updates section

    Look for the Song Dong Nai River, I hope by Monday..A really great addition to the Bien Hoa area.

    Great VFR scenery for Helo Pilots that only had maps from the coast to Saigon and anywhere after.

    Mission writers should really like this, I hope.

    All VTP type scenery with some GSL type to follow.

    Are there any ordinance missing that you'd like to have? Other then the Cluster bombs. Which are proving somewhat tricky with regards to pics and specs.

    John,
    I found some clusters that I forgot I had, BUT...please do not laugh at me, is there an easy way ( something that an old redneck like me could actually do ) to take some of Al Simms .api macros
    and turn them into destroyable GSL objects ?

    I have gone thru most of the tutorials on the free flight site but to no avail.

    These screen shots are rather enticing lol. Look Forward to flying the last gunfighter.

    I think there is a way but not an easy one. I forget right off hand what is needed. need to make them into bgls. then you can add a destroyable model using Allens .bat set.

    dasuto,
    It looks like you have a wild weasel setup. Looks like a shrike with MK82s. Don't forget to out turn those SAMs.

    You'll need an A-6 to do some Iron Hand. Brings some F-4s to cover your Six if you do. You wouldn't want a mig joining in. That reminds me, someone has to do the 'Flight of the Intruder' "Downtown" mission. The book version, not the movie.

    Vietnam for CFS2 Beta

    Fire season is mostly over now, so the EOC call center has been stood down and I'm free to get back to simming. BH, what do you need in the way of photos and specs? I'll dig into my ordnance manuals and see what I can turn up for you.

    good color pics or drawings with the color of the markings.

    Spec needed are length and Dia or a drawing with the specs of each part.

    Weight in either Lbs or Kg. The weight needs to be the total of the whole not the weight of the explosive charge. I can work with estimates of those figures.

    Drawing are better then pics. So if you find some good ones, grab them.

    Got it. I'll dig out my archive HDD and run through the US TM's, I'm pretty sure I have one from 1970 give or take a couple years, that should cover the correct period. Definitely dimensions, and probably drawings, too. Colors...maybe.

    Hi Blood Hawk,

    If I can please ask a favor, Do you think it would be possible to make a FFAR (Zuni) rocket for the Alpha F-8 that's in the screenshots. Mine and BC's.

    I've removed them off of the Fs9 *.mdl but cannot find a suitable replacement in any CFS2 weapons packs. Alphasim's modern weapons has a Zuni though no rocket itself shows when it is mounted on the rails. (Not modeled in the .bgl)

    I've been trying others but they all have fins in the wrong places.
    BTW, if possible a fin-less version would be absolutely great.
    Marine F-8's are in dire need of ground support ordinance.

    I hate to burden you with more. So if time isn't available...no problem. ;-)

    Wow, just saw your post Allen. I've already sent off a reply to Blood Hawk's pm.
    Maybe he would be able to respond better then I would. I wouldn't want to speak for him if ya know what I mean...

    I have to say it's great of you to offer assistance. Thanks!

    When am I not overloaded. LOL

    DV,
    Its up to you. Without Allen's help I'd never have done what I have. So no problem on my end.

    Allen,
    I have an idea for the Zuni's. So if you do take it up, let me know.

    Dave,
    Got your email. I'll look it over today and get back to you. I had a First Aid and CPR class this morning at work. So it might be after a nap.

    No hurry on my part my friend,
    As many people as we have jumping in, I think this is going to be a very long term project,

    At least I hope so.
