Thanks Dave. I popped there a few days ago and saw the '7-10' days post. Not sure that $48 is in my price realm though. If it were HMS Eagle (or similar) I'd view it a bit differently but I already have more American LHA's than I do Brit carriers. Nice model though

I was really impressed with Deltasims King George 5 and Graf Spee packages, I scratch built a radio control KGV well over thirty years ago, no brainer.

Every-time my brother Rick stops with his kids, I have to bring it out so he promised to build the, a Warship for them but had to be relatively less extensive in work, so to my resource library and picked out the Graf Spee .. Deltasim then released there Graf Spee ... was no hesitation, slack brother has nothing finished the ship so we could have mock battles in the local lake.

I may have to look at this some time or stage, the AI model would be ideal with Nemeths CH-53 or the Harrier.

It's been a long time since I was aboard a Carrier. But this one doesn't look like one to me. - Not at all.
No. we didn't have Helicopters nor Jets. But the deck was a heck of a lot wider There's a lot more support vehicles and cranes. There's ton of people on deck. It's a very, very busy place.
The number on elevator is used almost as the deck edge elevator.
Chipping hammers are always going and there is always newly painted parts of the ship.It sits static on the sea, and no rocking and rolling.
Now if you want to catch a wire or "trap" an airplane. there's a lot cheaper ways to do it
But if it's realistic portrayal of life on board a Carrier, this one won't do it.
Would you like to ride in my big green tractor?.

Imagine how much sleep everyone is losing over how this 80s Wasp-class LHD doesn't resemble an Essex class CV from the 40s. Apples and olives, already, what's so complicated about this?

Oh, I know, the only true carrier is the carrier I served on. Check. That infantile trope is wearing pathetically thin ... or more practically, for anyone considering this purchase, contributes nothing to the discussion.

Anyway, I'm curious as to how it performs FPS wise. With how much of the interior they've modeled, I'm a bit suspect, but I'll keep an open mind. It's a whole generation later than era-wise than I'd usually be interested in, but as a home for the Razbam USMC Harriers I occasionally fly, I'd consider it.

cheers, and thanks for the heads up.

With the detail of this WASP, it would also be interesting with MP, as for the other Deltasim models, FPS are not an issue, the one thing is exploring it, one thing with a MP everyone has to buy the model and also have the aircraft as so that would put a damper on many.

Thanks Ian - that is a helpful perspective on the matter.

    Cheers.

And then there were the 'real' carriers of the '60s. USS Intrepid CVS-11 USS Yorktown CVS-10 USS Wasp CVS-18
Sure would like to have one of these to fly my S-2 and H-3 off of.

Crikey Jmbiii , that's a nice working photo, I wonder if you contact Deltasim and put in a request

Has anyone on this list bought it yet? Any user reports?

Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken.

At the moment I'll hold off , $48US equals to $76NZ, I'm holding off a little while , I do want to check it out simply just for the options, as I said I was not disappointed with my other Deltasim warships, this one dose and would be ideal for the whirly bird flyers, the Osprey would be fun, I have the Wilco Harrier but not the RAZBAM AV8 ... sorta mixed on this at the mo.

Thanks, Ian. That was taken sometime in 1969, I believe. Was flying plane guard during a refuel of the escorts. USS Wasp, CVS-18, somewhere in the Atlantic. Gawd, I wish I were young again.

Bow of USS Intrepid, CVS-11, somewhere in the Caribbean. (plane guard duty again).

A great looking ship! I see in a few pictures an LCAC, though after reading the product page it does not list it as part of the package. I also checked their website and there's no separately sold LCAC either. I would be more inclined to buy this carrier if there's an LCAC or at least LCM's for the well deck that floods for such operations. Lot's of work went into this and that detail alone would prompt me to purchase, as I think it would be great with FSX@War and TAC Pack enabled fleets of aircraft, not to mention MP events, though all VTOL.

Thanks for posting and if only FSX simulated water wave effects better, this would be even better.
....my other Stryker is a 2019 Challenger Hellcat Redeye.....

Very good Oriskany and (straight deck) Valley Forge, Boxer here at the SOH Library, fyi.
Striker, listen, and you listen close: flying a plane is no different than riding a bicycle, just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes.
