Okay, guys, today I want to show you the progress regarding the ground polygons. As is well known, I (want) (have to) replace the photo ground because of current existing regulations in Germany.
First of all, here are some shots that show the appearance and behaviour of the different grass polygon layers. Now you get a better and more blurred surface from higher distance but at the same time a more real surface on the ground.

    Best regards, Manfred.

The grass looks excellent! I wonder what it looks like when you are taxiing past it

Needs to be thinking about an era without HAS, mate?!? You talk about the era of the mid 60s to the mid 70s probably. There also were several buildings still not built so far.... But you are right, the aerosoft bird fits pretty much in there ....
    Best regards, Manfred.

This truly is the very best short grass I have ever seen in FSX! Fantastic!

Still working on concrete, asphalt and apron textures now. Try to use many various types, but we'll see what will happen to the frames impact...

I wholly concur with the other posters, and I am keenly looking forward to flying my Lightning and Harrier from this airbase. But I have one small comment. The transition between asphalt/concrete and grass is rather abrupt. In reality the grass, because the tips of the blades are usually higher than the concrete, ‘overlaps’ a bit. It is a tiny thing, but perhaps it can be addressed?<o></o>

Wow, what a delay....sorry for that, guys, but it's still going on...

Meanwhile, I reworked the taxiway edges, now it's no longer that aprupt. Furthermore, the first markings are done...Yes, a final layer with dirt and tracks will follow....

Here the markings at the main apron started....

    Best regards, Manfred.

Beautiful, Manfred! Yes, I think the edges are much better now. The base is really coming alive! The textures of the parking stands are 'as real as it gets'. Will the static aircraft as shown in the screenshots be part of the package?<o></o>

Those aircraft are AI traffic. Based aircraft are John Young's Harrier GR3 and T4 you already can download at flightsim.com for example. All others are visitors by flightplans....

Marvellous work Manfred! Any ideas of the degree of impact this scenery will have on frame rates?
I'd love to run it, but looking at the incredibly high detail, I don't know if my set up will be powerful enough!
    Beautiful work though!
