Ready to start this tour. VS SBD. FSX real weather. AGGT to AGGA.
Down at AGGA.
Stormy weather like everyone has been getting. But this aircraft is pretty stable in the rough stuff. Went up to 12000ft and was getting a crosswind, so back down to 11000ft with a nice little tail wind. With all the clouds, it was hard to see the airstrip, the ndb came in handy. Not too many ndb's in this event, hopefully the weather clears up some.
Here we go. AGGA to AGGF.
Down safe at AGGF.
A bit more wind and a little rougher. Found the island easy enough.
Now that real weather is working again, AGGF to AGGV.
Down safe at AGGV.
The usual stormy weather. Tried to find a good altitude with a tail wind, but had to settle for a 20kt crosswind. Not much distance to get up stairs.
Heading for home. Munda. AGGV to AGGM. Should be able to find something to drop this egg on around here. Rekata Bay.
Safe down at AGGM.
Nice to be out of the weather. Climbed and settled at 10500ft with a small crosswind. First shot is approaching New Georgia. Second is our descent into Munda. Nice to have these dive flaps. Third at Munda. Unfortunate do not have Marks scenery installed.
Getting ready for AGGM to AGGE.
Made it to Ballale. AGGE.
With the clouds returning, a slow climb to get above them.
Over Kolombagara. A big Japanese build up of troops here, bypassed by the Allies. An Australian coast watcher spotted the wrecked PT109 from on top the mountain.
Approaching Vella Lavella. A well known base of the 214 Black Sheep.
On final for Ballale. Needed to get down pretty low to get under the clouds.
Heading for Bougainville. AGGE to AYBK.
Safe down at AYBK.
Climbed to 10000ft. Mostly cloudy. Flew right up the middle of the island.
Much history and fighting on Bougainville. We are off. AYBK to MKO.
Down safe at MKO.
Weather started out clear, but did not last long. Near Green Island. In the clouds. Approaching Malekolon.
Getting ready for Rabaul. MKO to AYTK.
Safe at Rabaul. AYTK.
Yep, the t storms came back for a short. Over New Ireland. Rabaul.
AYTK to JCB.
