Seep666,
Hence the term "hacks." The Allies did it too...they loved the Fiseler Storch, for example. It was the best of its type in any Air Force in the world at that time.

Hi,
I read a book years ago about KG200, a Luftwaffe unit of captured aircraft...I always thought it was fiction but it seems to have been real!
Andy.
It was almost impossible to capture a Japanese aircraft intact, so in the Pacific Theatre, the Allies brought in crashed planes and rebuilt them for comparison trials.

The German outfit was called the "Rosarius Flying Circus." After being tested in-depth at the Luftwaffe flight test center at Rechlin, on the Baltic, these aircraft were grouped together into a traveling organization that visited Luftwaffe combat airfields to familiarize German pilots with the enemy aircraft they would be facing in battle. They could test-fly them if time and circumstance permitted during the visit.
