Following many years of different restoration efforts and owners, the Seafire Mk.III PP972 flew for the first time yesterday, followed by another flight today, in the hands of Richard Grace. The aircraft is booked to be displayed at this year's Flying Legends airshow at Duxford, coming up July 11-12.

This is now one of four Seafires in flying condition in the world today - all four are different variants; the Seafire Mk.III PP972 and the Seafire Mk.XVII SX336, both based in England, and the Seafire Mk.XV PR503 and Seafire Mk.47 VP441, both based in the US. There are some more Seafires under restoration to airworthy - Airframe Assemblies just recently posted some photos to their Facebook page showing the reconstructed fuselage for a Seafire Mk.XV project.

These photos were posted today on the Flying Legends Facebook page of PP972 https://www.facebook.com/FlyingLegendsOfficial
