Repaint Canadair C-4 Argonaut Air Links

    Hi there,

Just uploaded at AvSim.com, FlightSim.com and Sim-Outhouse.com for FS2004 (Argonaut_AirLinks_GALHI.zip) and FSX (Argonaut_AirLinks_GALHI_X.zip) a repaint featuring the Canadair C-4 Argonaut G-ALHI of Air Links.

Air Links started its operations in 1959 from Gatwick, initially with one and from 1961 with two more DC-3 aircraft. In 1962 these were replaced by a single Handley Page Hermes, which became the last still in airline service. In 1964 the Hermes was replaced by several ex-BOAC Argonauts, acquired from Flying Enterprise, the Royal Rhodesian Air Force and East African Airways. They were mainly used for charters around Europe, as well as special trooping flights for the Ministry of Defense to Gibraltar, Hanover (West Germany) and the Middle and Far East. Already in 1965, after the company had been renamed Transglobe Airways and Bristol Britannias has been purchased, the Argonauts were written from use and scrapped or used for fire drills. These are textures only; you will require Jens B. Kristensen's Canadair Argonaut and North Star V3.0 for FS2004 (argo_v30.zip) or FSX (argo_v30x.zip).

    Cheers,
    Maarten

Nice job Maarten and it's certainly a handsome looking airplane. I might have a look-see at that one. Jens certainly does a nice job with his models.

Well, that appears to be a no-go in P3D. . .I get a "panel.dll fault" that crashes the sim each time I try to load. Too bad!

    Hi,

So sorry to hear. Jens had made this model in December 2010, long before P3D was introduced. I haven't a clue how to solve the problem you're experiencing.

Many thanks for your kind words about the repaint. Much appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Maarten

Well, had I checked the mdl file before downloading I would have seen that it wasn't "Native" FSX. Not a total game changer as I have quite a few that I fly in P3D that aren't, but it also means that the VC isn't usable and so that makes it an easy decision to delete an airplane I probably wouldn't have flown a lot anyway. I was just curious to see what it looked and flew like.
