    Talon passed away

On March 25th Talon (Al ) passed away while sleeping. He was on the boat with his G/F and fell asleep watching late night TV and never woke up. When she noticed he had stopped breathing she called for help but it arrived to late.

This was caused by his lung condition he's had since he helped at the World Trade Center 9/11/2001. He has been in the hospital several times since. He was told in 2010 he only had about 18 months but fought for 5 years. He never complained about his condition and lived his life the way he wanted.

Services were held today for him.

With everything that has been going on I didn't get a chance to come on SOH for a few days.

R.I.P and God Bless you Al for all your have done for my sisters, my parents, my children, and myself. I will always treasure the memories of all the good times we all had together.

    Hiede,

Thanks for letting us know. I had a father who died from COPD brought on by Valley Fever, so I can completely understand how much energy that takes out of you with each breath you take. My father lasted thirteen years after he was diagnosed in 1998.

Rest in peace, Al. I will hold you close in my thoughts and prayers. My next screwdriver will be for you.

Additionally, many thanks to all of your contributions to CFS2 over the years.

I am very saddened by the news. Two days ago I asked myself for Talon. (Strange, no?) I knew I had health problems and imagined his absence because of this. Hiede Thanks for letting us know.

Talon Thanks for everything you have done for others.

    Rest in peace.

Perhaps Talon's final gift to us

    In Memorium

Al (Talon) sent me this campaign beta a couple of months prior to his death but did not get it posted to SOH, which I believe was his intent once it got a final clean up.

Unfortunately that did not happen in time. I have done the final clean up - typos correction etc.- to finalize this for posting. The missions themselves haven't been touched, they are exactly as Al intended them.

Just uploaded USMC Bomber Squad 1942 campaign

Rami, would you please see that this gets moved over to the Talon Legacy section where it belongs? Thanks in advance.

    Cheers,

    Captain Kurt

This is a 10 mission campaign of the USMC bomber Squadrons on Guadacanal. Of the 10 missions you will be flying only 7 mostly in an SBD but 3 it could either an SBD or an Avenger. Hope you enjoy.

    Kurt,

Thank you for these. I may yet do another Pacific campaign to uphold Al's memory.

I've been part of SOH since 2003 so I know some of the members here and they know me.I was active in CFS3/OFF for a few years.I actually repainted afew WW1 planes for it.I also have FS9. With kids and their school activities I'm not as active now.

Dave if you pm me your e-mail I will send some songs to you if you want. They will be mp3's. It will probably be sometime next week because I will be pretty busy until after Memorial Day.

    Daveroo,

He was my brother in law which makes him family.

I would like to thank you for all the kindness and prayers over the last couple of months. It is really appreciated.

As for me I probably won't be very active at SOH because there really isn't anything here that interests me anymore. I only stayed active because of Al knowing he was sick and wanted to be able to let his friends know if anything happened to him.Well I've done that and now it's time to go.

    Just remember,

Live your life to its fullest because you never know when it will be over.Al always did.

    Farewell,

    Hello Hiede,

Just wondering if Al, You or the band ever posted anything on U-tube or whatever media,

I for one would be interested in seeing more about him.

We never did a video. A couple of songs in mp3 format were uploaded to sites about 6 years ago but the sites no longer exist. I still have 8 or 9 songs we did in the studio and are mp3's and some of songs from the Christmas show in 2013. I still haven't gone through all the CD'and DVD's Al made,I'm looking for the one he did in 2007 after his wife passed away. In my opinion it is the best music he did. He dedicated it to her and let me hear it. All his music was piano or instrumentals unless he was with the group.

As Keltiheart said Al has e-mailed some of his music to others.

    Hiede
