You might like the package I found on flightsim.com for Mountain Air, ICAO is 2NC0

It's at 4400 ft msl with homes, golf course and ponds around it.

I just stumbled on this wonderful freeware by FSDreamTeam. The only problem though is that none of the buildings show up :/

Just a thought, but perhaps the setting for scenery detail in your FSX? NC

No its not my settings. The buildings that should be there simply show up as black shapes on the ground. The taxiways and birds are there, plus a static DC-3, but now buildings

With FSDT freeware I guess you have to own (O´Hare?) before it becomes active.

However, it's not possible to "Buy" Greystone alone, it will be activated only together with O'Hare.

Do you have a copy of FSDreamTeam's Chicago O'Hare scenery purchased and activated? From what I understand it's only for people who have FSDreamTeam KORD.

OOhhhhh..... didn't realize that...... well now I have an excuse to get Chicago! :P

I guess I should have read up about that before I downloaded and installed.

Oh well, off to UNinstall it. Not wanting to buy O'hare. Thanks for the info. NC

Are you looking for something specific? What do you consider an "Airpark", as opposed to an Airport, Airfield or Field?

Those fly-in communities or residential airfields for lack of better words. There's a ton of them in Florida.

The only one I know of one for sure is 2WA1, Diamond Point. It's an ORBX product in Washington state. There could be other ORBX Packages around the world. Depending on your definition, another one that's close is Fukushima Airpark in Japan, part of the Fukushima package. It has an amusement park and picnic area about 30 miles north of the city.

I've been wondering about ORBX scenery for a while now. How is it on frame rates?

Joe Watson, a member here in SOH has done quite a few for the Florida area, although I don't know where they can be found. I believe they are payware sets, but relatively inexpensive. He's also done sound sets to add atmosphere to the local areas. You might look into those. . .maybe someone else can elaborate.

You can find a ton of fairly detailed airparks just within the base ORBX FTX Pacific Northwest scenery (around Washington and Oregon) - which have the houses, static cars and planes, etc.

I've always thought it would be neat to have a detailed recreation of Leeward Air Ranch, which is an airpark in Ocala, Florida - an airpark that has seen a fair share of warbird activity (Mustangs, Texans, and others http://vimeo.com/4340691).

I live in Eastern San Diego, and my closest airport is Gillespie Field (KSEE), and there's a large cluster of hangers there, and some people actually live in them!

Here are just a few/some of my favorite airparks in Washington and Oregon, covered with just the base ORBX PNW scenery.

    "Western"

    "Shady Acres"

    "Frontier Airpark"

    "Olinger Strip"

    @Ryan

Without going into a lot of detail, complex scenery and complex airplanes don't get along real well. In PNW, to me that appears to mean the more vertical real estate the more the issue. Most of my hangar does OK. I don't dwell on numbers so I can't quote those. Smooth is smooth. I keep buying it so it's not a real profound issue.

Wow, there are four choices, all for FSX. Which one?
Striker, listen, and you listen close: flying a plane is no different than riding a bicycle, just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes.

So every update from that point on included any/all new personalizations, including signs in front of scenery houses, with the name of the owner. There was a lot of controversy at the time, because (since it was an online auction, with closed bids) some folks were getting the same type scenery object for different pricing, so that process ended. But it is kinda cool to have my own hangar in the scenery, and anyone who buys Andras Field will see it. They (Aerosoft) included some cool features in it, such as animals walking across the runway, randomly, and birds flying. Also, next to the airfield terminal, there's a couple arguing. When you taxi near them, you can hear the conversation. Gets old after a while though.

But Andras Field is a really NICE piece of scenery! Most highly recommended! NC
