Made it safe and sound here at Essendon to finish the race!

    Flight Time: 03:53:50
    Routine Ground Time: 0:45:00
    Special Ground Time: 0:00:00
    Penalty Time: 0:00:00

Dark and foggy start .... clear mid flight and then the clouds piled up again for the last 30 minutes or so coming into Essendon.

I have no memory of flying into Essendon with clear skies .... ever.

Right .... so winds were both good and bad .... broke even I'd say .... straight on the nose or straight on the tail.

Two NDB's right on plan and several off to one side or the other ... was able to use visual of a couple of airports off to the side(s) as well.

Held airspeed a bit too long again (never learn) .... had to take off, do a quick 180 and re-land up wind.

Normally that would have been a heart attack, but after yesterday's exhibition of improper approach planning and ground antics, it was a mere bag of shells.

Relieved to be finished with the second effort and happy there were no penalties in either one.

Much obliged to everyone that posted with support to either thread.

Replied when I could with no selective process other than time consideration and balance of real life ... you know like falling asleep and banging your head on the keyboard ... thanks guys!

This was an absolutely awesome event I have been privileged to participate in and had a ball with every minute.

I remain truly grateful to the Race Committee and all that helped .... and of course the fine Miss Nellie.

Congrats Austin. That looks like a real winner run there! Makes one wonder if Amelia Earhart had flown this race, would the winning line-up have been different?
