Thread: Moses' Par For The Sikorsky Golden Age

Salties! Not venturing out beyond the city limits...

  2. #52
To the interior of this large island. Moving on to YTNK, Tennant Creek. Who picked this short-ranged ship anyways?

Note: Real life might FUBAR this segment. See how it goes.

  3. #53
    Into the haze at YTNK.

    Flight Time: 02:34:58
    Routine Ground Time: 00:45:00
    Special Ground Time: 00:00:00
    Penalty Time: 00:00:00

About 5 min after this air to air photo was taken, the viz went to near zero for the rest of the flight. So much for sightseeing south-southeast of Darwin.

The viz has been "sucky" between Cloncurry, Narrowmine and now enroute to Melbourne.

Too bad about the visibility. I really enjoyed my pair of flights last night into Tennant Creek and then on to Cloncurry. Hope it clears up over the next 6 or 7 hours!

Heading into Melbourne, it's cleared up a good bit. Still some clouds though.

Okay, see what we get on the way down to YCCY Cloncurry.

  8. #58
Safely down at YCCY. Permafig the whole way, at least at my alt of 8000' until we about landed.

    Flight Time: 02:01:46
    Routine Ground Time: 00:45:00
    Special Ground Time: 00:00:00
    Penalty Time: 00:00:00

I let the copilot taxi over to the check-in tent and while trying to avoid a dingo, stomped on the brakes too hard. Awful scraping sound it was.

Damage should be mostly cosmetic. Maybe it was the full moon?

Time to give your co-pilot a very stern talking to! You really don't want him doing that more than once. Or even once...

Hull repaired (sweaty three hours in the sun courtesy of the copilot). Saddling up for YCCY Charleville.

  11. #61
In Charleville. Again, solid haze the whole flight.

    Flight Time: 02:34:43
    Routine Ground Time: 00:45:00
    Special Ground Time: 00:00:00
    Penalty Time: 00:00:00

    Heading out for Melbourne.

  13. #63
Down at last! Into Melbourne YMEN.

A quick shower and then off to the watering hole to swap some stories.

Note: Placing myself in the handicap class of course.

    Flight Time: 04:03:30
    Routine Ground Time: 00:45:00
    Special Ground Time: 00:00:00
    Penalty Time: 00:00:00

    Final landing.

    Great run Moses! Congratulations.
Expect banging, belching and an occasional manly fart as you roar down the runway at full power. (I have found that the engine can make similar noises)

One pilot who had no worries about sharks in the Timor Sea if fuel ran out! How to refuel another matter.

Well done, enjoy the Fosters and the heroes welcoming party / parties!

Nice run and account of the trip! Broast! Cheers! Salute!

We're ancious hear the story of about your copilot scratching to bow of the boat after you've had a couple!

I was thinking about making a run back to London in the Gamma 2 Skychief, but time is not allowing it here lately.

We'll just sit and wait (party) until all the pilots arrive!
