FScene replaces the ground textures (whichever you have loaded; default, UT, GEX or tother). It provides a different coloring than the default, and many people like it. Ruud has added 'depth' to the default textures by adding shadows. And he has changed the general coloring in many places.
It is compatible with any mesh program. It is not compatible with any other 'general texture replacement' program.... there can only be one program displaying the texture tile you fly over :wave:
UT, for one, does much more, by also adding layers of roads, rivers, railroads and changing the landclass definition.
