    The New Zealands Hawkes Bay

Off out for my tour, I love how blends into the mesh and water masking following the Ngaruroro River all the way into Hastings,
fits into ORBX NI and VLC New Zealand like a glove, one thing I always advocate is photo real scenery and fully autogened

Great shots. I remember doing multiplayer flights over NZ. My friends from NZ always managed to show off their wonderful country.

I suppose the workload to accomplish this would be considerable, but well worth it. Why don't these companies spend a bit more time to color correct and enhance their tiles? I have photoreal for all of the Hawaiian Island with full autogen and it really changes everything for the better. However just as in these pictures, the ground textures are washed out and the autogen is a mismatched color based on the ground textures and stands out like a sore thumb. Even if they would darken the ground tiles somewhat it would make a world of difference really. It's the main reason I'm turned off by most of these mass produced regional photoreal scenery tiles. It's also why I spend so much time to make sure that anything I release has been color corrected and sharpened to "match".

    +1 Ed!

In my recent very limited experience with photoreal I try to do this also. Blending is very important. ORBX do it very well in their regions where they employ photoreal parts. If you have the newest Open LC for Europe, they have done amazing work with the photoreal Vesuvius.

One problem when trying to color correct is which textures are you trying to match. Will it be default, GEX, ORBX Global or other? I am currently working on a small airfield in Northern Ireland where I feel I managed to match my photoreal background very well with all seasons to match the ORBX textures. However, when I switch to GEX, winter and fall are way off. I am thinking of providing an alternate photoreal bgl to cover both options. Unfortunately I do not have default any more.

Anyway, back to Hawkes Bay. NZ scenery is always breathtaking.

Just curious. Which photoreal sceneries for Hawaii are you using, Falcon? Any particular mesh? I'm always on the hunt for good looking volcanic topography...
