    Hey Dave,
Looks like the tanker you were working on can go into storage. This T2 tanker should fit in nicely with the project we talked about.
Although it's not the same class, (Cimarron-class oiler) it's close enough with a hull number change. Really looking forward to this.

Well, if you (or others) can guess what is coming next from the shipyard, you will get a convoy...

I guess that now I can't avoid doing a convoy... Last night the Victory class model went to the texturing workshop... Erwin Welker has provided a couple of escort ships, but I still need a couple of bad guys below the surface, before starting on the routes.

    Excellent

There's a pilotable U-Boat knocking around.. can't remember it's origins (think I got it from FSShipyards) nor if it has a deck gun. Been a long time since I've seen it 'in sim'. Seeing the speed at which you knock these complex ships out.. it shouldn't take you long to build a U-Boat

    Henrik..

Thinking about it, you only need to model a periscope and have it appear (at a distance) at a given point of your route. How cool would that be.. a periscope with a wake effect added

They'd not be on the surface during the day after a convoy (I doubt) so there's no need to model a full submarine

    Hi Dave,
But if you hit the sub with a tacpack bomb it should stick the stern in the air... so I will still need to do the full boat... But as you wrote - it is not the most complex thing in the world to model.
    Regards
    Henrik

Rgr that mate I don't have TP and hadn't considered that aspect. I was also working on the assumption that the convoy would have escorts and under these conditions.. I'd expect most (if not all) daylight attacks to be carried out submerged. As you say though.. TP opens up a world of possibilities. I may even invest in it one day

I have a very old model that I started in Max 9 of the XII boat. You can have the source file if you wish. PM me if interested.

Edit: it's a VII-C boat Hull and tower done no details.

Paul's submarine has now been downloaded - looks great and I will bring her the lasts steps to launch. The Victory class has also advanced, so release could be expected sometime in August

Not a lot of progres the last two weeks, but finally the Victory ships are getting ready in both civilian post war painting and in convoy configuration. All in all there will be 7 or 8 different models.

These old girls are so good.. I'd be tempted to make all my world shipping of this era. Tempted is one thing.. actually doing it is something else!!
