    Fav missions and campaigns

My fav mission set is AF=Midway by Pen32Win. At the time it came out there was nothing else that could compare to it.Even today it is tops in historical missions. I have updated the missions with the newer ships and planes taht have come out since he released them. The biggest problem is you can't go into mission builder to change them or you ruin them. That's right you have to hand edit them and it keeps them working as they should.

My fav Campaign is Defense of Australia. This was the first of the really historical campaigns for CFS2.I know it's been redone twice since it first came out but the original will always be the Classic. As newer planes came out I hand ediied to keep it up to date. This was a few years before the new ones were done and I never put them up because copyright issues.I now have 3 versions in my CFS2.

The only other Campaign I fly is the stock one which isn't stock anymore in my game,it also has been upgraded with newer ships and planes and a few other things.

I don't fly many campaigns not even my own except when I'm making them.I usually fly fav missions that I've made for my personal use or DCG campaigns.

Maybe some of you can tell us what your fav missions and campaigns are.It would be nice to know what other people enjoy.

    Talon,

Defense of Australia is also one of my favorites, including both the original and the updated version.

I too edited out the original P-40 in favor of KM's outstanding P-40.

I also like the Battle of Britain and Battle of France campaigns in the European theater.

I like your Bismark and Coral Sea campaigns and Rami's Dutch East Indies for the Pacific theater.

And, I have to admit, I like the Aces Campaigns I did on Bong and McGuire. I like flying those P-38s by David Copley.

    Good morning,

    Good thread, Al.

My campaign favorites? The road less traveled...Normandie-Niemen, Corpo Aereo Italiano / Chianti Raiders, The Tuskegee Airmen, Operation Frantic, the Greek / Balkan campaigns, the 354th Fighter Group, the USMC campaign by Talon, skylane's campaigns, and the German side to the Battle of Britain.

    Al,

I lied. Call it a case of sim pilot infidelity.

    Hey Rams,

Don't give in so easily......you read his README and just reading about the campaign made it one of your favorites before flying even one mission.

Looks like only 3 others besides myself have enjoyed flying campaigns.

Anything and everything with Corsairs and blue water (it was the big honkin' Corsair on the box that first hooked me on buying this sim ):

    VMF-214: Black Sheep Squadron
    The Jolly Rogers 1 "Cherryblossom"
Corsair war in the Pacific 1943
    VF-17: Jolly Roger Squadron
    The Jolly Rogers 1 & 2
    TL_Vila
    Tokyo Express (USS Shangri-La)

Plus, Milne Bay RAAF 1942...a riveting campaign in what i considered a very fascinating region of the CFS2 map. I knew nothing about Milne Bay until this campaign's release and Maskrider also provided an excellent introduction with his work on the scenery pack.

My favorite is my own "Desperate Battles". One mission of which has you take off and escort a flight of TBFs. Half way to the target, you pass a group of Japanese aircraft, on their way to attack your task force. Some of the enemy planes peel off and attack your bombers and you have to drive them off then catch up to the fighters and head for the enemy ships in the target area. You have to engage the enemy's CAP then - a busy mission.

    For me:

    • DoA 1 & 2 (then RAAF 75th, DoA revisited by Talon)
    • AVG campaign (the old one)
    • The Jolly Rogers 1 & 2
    • Talon's Carrier war USN
    • Aces High
    • Battle of Britain
    • Battle of France
    • Desert Air Force (Allied and Axis)
    • Defense of Malta
    • Operation Barbarossa
    • Normandie-Niemen
    • Fox4's Korea

    Among missions/mini-campaigns:

    • AF=Midway's Battle of Coral Sea
    • AF=Midway's Battle of Midway 1 & 2
    • Pearl Harbour Project
    • Talon's Marianas and Leyte 1944
    • Talon's Coral Sea

Unfortunately, I did not complete most of the above. Few years ago I started hand-editing all missions to accommodate my way of aircraft folder naming, which is as close as possible to the stock standard (Spitfire_MkI, P51B_Mustang, Bf109F4_trop, B17_Flying_Fortress, A6M5c_Zero, and so on...), then dp work, then exhaust effects editing, then I went multi-install, then props and repaints, then GSL work, then...., then...., then...., then....,.....

.....oh, I wish I could fly missions again!

    Cheers!

    Ah yes, KH,

It is always the THEN, and THEN, and THENs that get us all!!

Sometimes I force myself to just sit and fly a mission or two, though seldom do I fly an entire campaign these days.

I also flew Milne Bay many years ago and I agrre with you about it.

I now have Jolly Rogers " Cherry Blossom" and plan on giving it aa shot.
I can't find any of the others.

The reason I started this thread is for members to participate and make suggestions and maybe get others interested in some campaigns

.So far only 6 have said anything.

Let's go guys and give some suggestions and feedback on what you like.

At the moment I have 32 campaigns installed. As a european I am mostly in favour of the European campaigns. The pacific is far away for me,however I have some few with The Defence of Australia is topscorer, AVG also. Another thing,I rarely fly for Luftwaffe, I have the age so I still remember how they behaved, and some people never forget what they did. So fly for RAF, killing germans really gives me a kick, BoB on top but also Tuskegee Airmen and battle for europe are fine, it is impossible to make a rank, just a great thank you to all yo" campaignmakers".

That's not an easy question to answer, as there are many campaigns I like.
    But maybe these:

    354th FG
    SCW Defense of the Republic
    Pearl Harbor
    RAF vs Regia Aeronautica
    Desperate Battles
    Milne Bay

    For miisions

    AF=Midway
    Pearl Harbor

    Campaign
    DOA-All 3 versions
AVG Complete-I flew the original also but enjoy the continuation of the newer one.
USMC Aces-Hopefully Talon continues his work in this area
Fox Four Korea,Korea USN and Korea USAF.These really got me interested in Korea and I have been doing some research it.
