Dornier Do 335 Pfeil Series Modeling

Thomas from CR1 Software hired me as a 3D Modeler and I came here to share my work :3

I'm mostly a character artist but lack technical plane and aviation knowledge, hopefully you people can help its progress! :3

It's always good to see another modeller's work. I hope you have some good scale drawings to work from, there are some really picky folk around! The best I know of are Arthur Bentley's.

    Hello Janet,

If I might ask, What software are you using?

also are you making this aircraft for any particular Flight Sim?

    Its looking good.

Yeah there are a few rivet counters but I think you'll find a good group here.

    I am using Autodesk's 3D Studio Max 2014.

You may know this already, but you'll have to use the Prepar3D SDKs to export from Max 2014 to FSX. You'll need the v2 SDK to compile the .X and .XANIM files from Max 2014 and XtoMDL from the v1.4 SDK to compile these to an FSX-compatible .MDL file

    Hello Janet,

If you don't have much experience with aeroplanes, I strongly suggest you buy a plastic model of the Do 335 and also look at as many photographs of the actual aircraft as possible. A set of 3 view dimensional drawings is very useful but a lot of shapes are not captured in the 3 views. If you are still looking for good drawings, let me know and I will see if I have any good sources.
