RTWR 2014 Practice #3 "Headin' South"

P3 picks up from where P2 stopped at Longyear.

It is a good chance for everyone to make sure his or her FS setup is running smoothly and to iron out any Duenna problems.

Standard RTWR rules apply. More info here: http://www.fsrtwrace.com/about.php

    TS3 Server: http://www.sim-outhouse.net/forum/showthread.php?t=40

FS Host Server Port 23456: http://www.sim-outhouse.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8

    Practice #3 Notes:

-Start airport is ENSB, Longyear, Norway

-End airport is EGYP, Mount Pleasant in the Falkland Islands

    -Maximum leg length - 800nm

-Maximum Leg time - 3 hrs drop dead exceeding 3hrs invalidates leg

    -No two hour penalty limitation

-Pilots may fly consecutive legs if the baton has been idle for at least 30 minutes (based on post time)

-Objective is basic flying, correct posting procedure, baton transfers etc. All the usual stuff

-You control your own routing within the required airports

-No aircraft limitations, pistons or jets (normal limitation of sub mach 1) interchangeable. White list aircraft are encouraged

-The early part of this practice should test your ability to get into less than ideal airports

-Make sure you are flying in 'real time' for the area, if it's dark there in real life then fly in the dark!

    -Kick off is NOW!

    Post legs in this thread...

This was supposed to be a range test (almost 800nm), but given that the headwinds are over 100 knots, there is no way I'm going to get to SC21! I'll see how things go, and then look for a grass strip, probably more like 600nm down the East Coast.

Diverting to VG33, with ETE 0:20. If it hasn't started to get light when I get there, I'll be going to Norfolk, KORF.
