Kudo's to those that deserve it.

I may have misread one of the posts in this thread.

So, gratitude and kudo's to those involved in creating the vintage vc, the great aircraft add-on, and the great soundpack.

"So it looks like we found an awesome freeware DC-3/C-47 that is about to reach high standard payware quality."

Jan and team - I still fly both of MAAM-Sim's venerable DC-3 and B-25 in FSX-DX10, using Steve's DX10 Fixer: I now fly Manfred's wonderful rendition - but it's a modern rendition. Your VC will bring these works full circle: It will take me back to my youth - the '60's, and FSX will finally have one of the finest examples of Flight-Sim aircraft artistry available. Why A2A, or some equally qualified developer hasn't done this I do not know: it is such a missed opportunity.

This should be payware - it is certainly of that calibre. Thank you all so much for bringing it back to life.

    Goodday folks,

This week i started work on the heart of the DC-3 cockpit: the Throttle Quadrant. I'll always make a quick drawing first before getting to work at modeling :

Well, that's not true of course.. It's uncle Maximillian that makes the sketch, not me, and it's done after the modeling, not before...

Here's the WIP Throttle Quadrant in another fancy setting :

That's another advantage of working with Max over Gmax, you get to play with Max' awesome rendering possibillities. I don't know much about it yet but i intent to because i'd like to have a go at texture baking once the modeling is more or less finished. Not much photo texturing this time because i have only access to the DDA Dakotas but the pits are too 'modern and pimped up' to suite the purpose of creating a 'VVC'.

Onwards in normal setting. On the way :

And here's where the TQ is sofar. Still quite some stuff to add as you can see :

    To be continued --->

This is getting more and more epic by the day!

Some more screenies of the TQ WIP :

Ok, that's it for today, gents, more next weekend.

Thanks much again for the inspirational comments and I wish you all a Happy and Prosperous New Year !

    Cheers,
    Jan

    Absolutely WONDERFUL work Jan!
A retro cockpit is just the ingredient I need to create a supurb rendition of my beloved DC-3/C-47. This will certainly fit the bill. Bless You folks.

Just one(simple?) request: Please gauge/mouse map the flat portion of the main panel for us tweakers/modders.
I like to create pop-ups of certain instruments, and, add icons for them, and other functions.
It would be great to be able to place those icons, or, other visible/invisible controls, adjacent to their modeled partners...Don

Thanks,Don. Hansi tells me that because a 'glass plate' is added to each gauge it can be made clickable to f.i. provide Tooltips. I suppose that'll make for more ops.

    cheers,
    Jan
