I'm still tweaking it, and having problems with performance and annoying black screens. I haven't loaded any payware/freeware anything yet, so everything is still stock until I figure out how to get it running the way it needs to...I think I need to upgrade my video card in order to really take advantage of the new sim, but despite all that, a first screen...

This was in Multiplayer, although there wasn't anyone else flying at the time (does that mean it wasn't really multiplayer then? lol). Anyway, a few early AM shots in the Rockies. These shots don't show it very well, but two things that got my attention. . .One was that while looking past the tail at the ground textures while I was flying, the textures remained sharp, unlike FSX where the textures would go back to blurry as they trailed away. The other was the fog. . .on several landings, the volumetric (sp?) fog was very evident and very impressive.

Some cool things in this sim.
When I first got 1.2 last year, I was just giant eyeballs, staring at all the cool features of the scenery. I spent like 2 weeks just flying stock planes around in Prepar3D, taking in all the scenery effects and things that I could never see in FSX. And now with V2, there are now new features (again) that are pretty amazing. I think my fave is interior shadows. The realism of the shadows and the HDR lighting are just brilliant. But also flying through a cloud and its a mist instead of a giant banner plate hovering in the air is also pretty darn cool.

Over Aerosoft's Venice X in Prepar3d v2.1 - that scenery still looks great after all these years...and after all these years is still a frame-rate hog...
