Le Palais at Belle Ile in Brittany

    Hallo friends
the port of Le Palais at Belle Ile in South Brittany is realy very nice to visit
In vfr as also in real.
But the runway on Belle Ile is really very very short for a warbird fighter
    Best regards

Added the VC and it melts my brain. Thanks to flying the Me 262 I think the red line is the horizon when the green line is. The lower to the ground I get the more I pull back on the stick thing I'm going to hit the ground. Feels like I have to land by Artificial Horizon and Vert Speed than once I'm over the runway and the main wheels are on the runway panic hits as the nose comes down and my 1st thought is I snapped the nose gear off! but than I'm fine.

It helps that 90% of the work was already done and it nice to look at but with full fuel it flies a bit like a truck and is tail heavy on take off thanks to the 1000 liters in the very tail tank. This can be off set by the 1000ish lbs of bombs. What is 1000 more lbs to a plane that has already had it fuel load nearly doubled already right?

Has a real texture now with a place holder symbol since image is hosted off site. Bombs are added when using the tailhook key.

Added a wire to the VC that is close to the Horizon when on the ground. This is nice reference and help with landing..

    Sometimes....

Sometimes, you start a repaint from the start you are wondering whether it is worth the effort....

After Motormouse had done Carew Cheriton, I had a close look at the Alphasim Lockheed Hudson and the repaints available for this model. All available repaints were based on the same Alphasim paintkit, and to say it a bit blunt, it reminded me to the old plastic Matchbox model kits, with the deep engraved panel lines.

As I thought I could do a better job I started to create a brand new paint kit. And while working on the first texture I started to realise, it would be hard to produce anything better than the Aphasim paintkit. But I continued and although I'm reasonably satisfied, I really wonder whether it was worth all the effort. As the repaints done by JanKees Blom are actually quite nice.

Below the point where I started to have my doubts

A lot of time and work later, here the end result.

And in case you wonder, yes the type A roundels on the top of the wings seem to be correct. I don't know whether this was something specific for No 320 and 321 squadron as several Ansons, used by these squadrons, had it as well.

    Cheers,
    Huub

Today I ran into this picture from the real one. On most pictures from the aircraft of this squadron the code NO was in front of the roundel, but on this particular aircraft it was behind. It was also equipped with de-icing devices and the turret, which was added in the UK, was left black. So there were quite some last minute adjustments. The real N7288 was a Mk.I and the Alphasim model is a Mk.V. I have considered to do the repaint for the CFS2 model by Paul Straney as he has done a Mk.III and this is closer to the Mk.I. But as I didn't know how it would fly in FS2004 I continued with the Alphasim one.

The repaint is available in the library

    Enjoy,
    Huub

The Coral flight models are definitely very nice, but when I think of aircraft from the land of the rising sun, somehow I have more with these.

    Nice job as usual, Huub...

Might I ask, whose models are those? Chris Lampard's Ki-27, perhaps? Akemi's Ki-61?

    Again, beautiful work! -Mike Z.

No problem Mike. Here they are in order of appearance:

    • Nakajima Ki-27b Nate by Chris Lampard (uploaded by Shessi)
    • Mitsubishi A5M4 Claude by Chris Lampard (uploaded by Shessi)
    • Kawasaki Ki61 Ho by Akemi with textures by Morton
    • Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate by Akemi again with textures by Morton
    • Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate by Akemi, but this time with a "silver" texture by Spectre

All Akemi's models can be found in the Akemi Legacy folder in the CFS2 part of the SOH library. The textures can all be found in our library as well.

And ACWai uploaded some very interesting textures for Akemi's Ki-84 also.

    Cheers,
    Huub

    Hallo,
to change a bit from choppers or other warbirds,
I went sailing, even it was a bit windy.
Wonder if some one (perhaps our french friends?)
finds out where I was sailing
    Best Regards
