As said the Boomerang is the one by Akemi, with textures by Morton. The desert textures are VOZ_1.8 (which is currently available on Flightsim.com again) and the scenery is the FDG2 scenery which came with the donationware Corsair (now freeeware).

The Macchi's are both MC.202 Folgores by Manuele Villa (although different sub-types). And again the desert textures came with VOZ.

Personally I think the Folgores and Veltros were among the best looking aircraft of WWII. The models by Manuele are absolutely stunning.

You're right, I too think the Macchi's are great looking planes. Sorta like a sports car. Manuele Villa has produced some of the most outstanding aircraft for FS2004. I fly quite a lot in VOZ1.8. Are the desert textures you're using the western side of Australia?

When I remember correctly it was the Northern territories I took off from a small strip in the North East (I had expected a bit more green...). Further to the West the desert is more tan and less textured.

The DH-80A was a fun project back in 2009. Loved this livery especially.

Avro Tutor K3338 was on strength of 4 FTS, RAF Abu Suweir; no idea why it was painted in non standard
markings as shown (a prominent red stripe along fuselage and no tail flash, but a round badge of some sort on the fin)
here I've used the modern 4 FTS badge on the fin , as I can't get a clear enough image of what the actual badge is.

4FTS moved to Habbaniya, Iraq, on outbreak of war, and later distinguished itself in the Battle of Habbaniya

The sad story of B-flight No 600 Sqn RAF

On the 10th of May 1940 the Dutch requested support of the RAF to attack the Waalhaven airfield, which was captured by the Germans. RAF HQ decided to send the Bristol Blenheim fighters from 600 sqn. As Squadron leader Wells (Auxiliary Air Force) expected strong resistance he decided to lead the flight himself and did not to take any navigator with him, except for his own. After the briefing 6 Blenheims Mk.1Fs took off from Manston at 10:30. The squadronleader decide to attack the airfield in 2 waves from 3 aircraft each. Only one wave reached the airfield. From the six aircraft only one managed to return to Manston. The other 5 didn't stand a chance against the Bf110s from 3./ZG1.

From the 13 crew members involved in this mission only 6 survived. Form these 6 survivors, 3 survived the war. From one the fate is unknown. The 7 who died, never came home as they are all buried in near Rotterdam.

The airfield Waalhaven was not rebuild after the war and is now part of the Rotterdam Harbour. At the location of the former airfield you can find a small monument to remember the men who took part in this sad mission.

    Hi Darren,
    Nice,....better and better........

Can I suggest something please. Try taking your screen shots from the up-sun side, that will make the picture brighter and show off the ac much better with reflection etc.

Taff, Womb..not a tubeliner flyer myself, but both pics very nice, great texs.

    Cheers

hey shessi, ive taken a look at the screenshot of the one everyone talks about and grades all my photos on...i do agree its a bit drab and dark but it was in the middle of a rainstorm and that's why its got all the streaks in the window and it was just within the golden hour at the evening time

Well, I guess it's a matter of whether you mainly want to show off the sunset or the airplane.

Either way looks great in its own way.

    Great shots y'all.

For something completely different, I was fooling around with this model I downloaded from a free 3D model download site.

It is not uncommon for people who model for pleasure, and not for a game, to never scale their model.

This is how this one showed up in FSX when I exported it the first time. LOL

    Cool, huh?

    Hi M,
    Looks complete 'junk' to me...........sorry..

Yes quite agree, there are some good freebies out there, that can be imported, although as they are not optimised for flightsims they also tend to be a little poly heavy.

    Cheers
