IIRC the DVII was designed by Fokkers Chief Engineer, Reinhold Platz ( later to become Chief Designer)

Correct! Reinhold Platz entered the service from Fokker already before the Great War (1912) as a welder. Because he was one of the few who was able to weld aluminum he had a lot of influence. He was already involved in the design of the Dr.1 and I think he was also responsible for the design of the D.VIII.

After the war Platz joined Fokker in the Netherlands, and was responsible for the design of many of Fokker's early airliners. Most likely because he lacked the required education he was not able to convert to newer techniques and materials. In 1931 he left Fokker and joined Pander.

Anthony Fokker was mainly a smart salesman. Although he was most likely involved in the design of new aircraft, these were mainly designed by people who worked for him.

    Huub

He was very good at selecting his employees, an important ability for any businessman in any industry.

He was a good pilot too, so he could personally evaluate his company's products.

Looks like something that Dick Dastardly would fly If all that space was used to store fuel though it must have had enormous range. Assuming it could get off the ground with all that weight
The grass is always greener on the other side...

But, it's just as hard to mow!

The Floh (Flea) was / is payware , by Blutwerks.
Mr Google might help you locate any stores still selling it, as www.blutwerks.com is no more.

    Was $7.00 when on sale.

For those who are interested in the Triplane by Autocrate/Martin Klein, please take a look in this thread, and don't forget to download the specific FS2004 model files:

    http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforum...nd-anniversary

    Highly recommended!

Mav are you sure about the Camel? It looks like the model by Dave Eckert to me....

A question: Does anybody know whether the Blutwerks Fokker D.VIII is available somewhere? I still have Frank Elton's version installed, but this one is showing its age a bit.

    Cheers,
    Huub

Robin, I'm sure you realise by now, that I won't make a steampunk repaint. The Floh wasn't that popular I guess as there are only a few repaints I'm aware of.

The Floh in a livery which actually belongs to a Russian Nieuport 17. I think the repaint was done by Randy L. Foss aka Baron von Blutwurst, the man behind Blutwerks

The Floh in the colours Jasta 10, painted by Mike Wilson. This repaint is available in our library.

The Floh in a scheme which based on a picture from an Albatross D.V. It is one of my repaints and available in our library.

The Floh in the colours of Jasta 5. It is also one of my repaints. I thought I had uploaded it to our library, but I'm not able to find in anymore.

And a nice movie! Enjoy the music

    Cheers,
    Huub

I stick to Sopwith (for at least this post .)

The models by Stuart Green are always fun (I think I already said that before). His Snipe is still a great model.

Again a Flying Dutchman, but this time in 1954 colours.

And the DC3/C47, now the Royal Dutch Airlines, in 1963 livery

And the final KLM colours for the DC3/C47, when it flew in Surinam to map this green country.

    Cheers,
    Huub

(Just as proof that I don't always fly and paint warbirds............)

    Kirk Olsson Mirage F1C-200

    New paint scheme by L'iguane.
