We decided to hop into some floaters and head up the Mississippi River. We started out at the mouth of it and headed upstream. Almost made it to New Orleans for the first leg.

We flew through New Orleans and headed on upriver. I couldn't resist flying under some bridges and then down Airline Highway near the airport to check out the drive in to see what was playing. Was doing pretty good cruising down the road checking out the billboards until darn telephone poles started popping up, so I headed back over to the river. Anyway, we made it up to 21LA just south of Red Stick.

We headed on up to Vicksburg and on the way had to do the obligatory fly under the bridge. Moses did a very nice job threading that 4 engine Sikorsky under that bridge!

Great flight up to Vicksburg. Got a bit nervous following that tiny Sikorsky under the bridge.
We put Vicksburg behind us and headed on to Catfish Point, Mississippi for a fish fry. Nothing like fresh fried catfish, hushpuppies and a quart of ice tea to wash it all down....

Continuing upriver, we went through St Louis. I made a wrong turn at the arch and got a little lost downtown before finding my way back to the river...

We flew on up to Rock Island (home of Rock Island Arsenal). I decided to pull the trigger on something more streamlined than the Sikorsky. Besides, it's got more room for all of these souvenirs I'm picking up.

We flew on up the river to Red Wing Minnesota. Pretty good flight even if I did discover what happens when you drag a wingtip in the water...
