    Important news for FSUIPC users

Sorry to just do a pretty much cut and paste from my news article at sF (http://www.simflight.com/2013/05/05/...-fsuipc-users/), but it's the easiest way to do this... I'm also cross posting it to P3D and FS9, because it affects everyone that uses the tool, regardless of version...

    -- --

Due to a breach in the security of the GlobalSign certificate used to confirm that FSUIPC is a valid and safe package, the certificate is being revoked. This will require ALL users of the software – whether registered or otherwise and using FSUIPC3 or FSUIPC4 – to need to download and install new versions.

Full details are available by visiting Pete Dowson’s post (http://forum.simflight.com/topic/743...-user-systems/) on his support forum at simFlight. Download links are available at simFlight; (http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66139-updated-modules/), or Schiratti.com; (http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html). For a short time, the following direct links to FSUIPC3 (3.999z2 - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...UIPC3999z2.zip) and FSUIPC4 (4.90 - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/..._FSUIPC490.zip) at Dropbox are also live.

Please note that this is not a security breach within FSUIPC itself – it is only the security certificate that has been compromised.

If you aren’t sure what FSUIPC is, or whether you have it, full details can be found on the product pages at simMarket (http://secure.simmarket.com/pete-dowson.mhtml) and it can be found within your Flight Simulator 9/modules, Microsoft Flight Simulator X/modules or Prepar3D/modules folder. If you have a file entitled “FSUIPCx.dll” (x is dependant on the FS version) then you need to update, in order for FSUIPC to keep working.

All that's going to happen if you don't upgrade is that FSUIPC will stop working. As it's usually doing something fairly important to be there, however, it's probably worth updating!

    Cheers,

    Ian P.

Thanks for the heads up Ian.
Expect banging, belching and an occasional manly fart as you roar down the runway at full power. (I have found that the engine can make similar noises)

Thanks for the hot info Ian. Your links to the drop-boxes worked a dream.
    Tks again.

Don't uninstall the previous version. Simply run the “Install FSUIPC4.exe” program ("run as ... Administrator"). Finally, the Installer offers you the chance to Register FSUIPC4 and/or WideFS7, or simply check your registration. You do NOT have to Register at this time: In this case simply click the Cancel button to continue.
