    leg 2

    Thanks Mate.

DCA996 departing Bowerman on leg 2 after 4 days of solid gardening both at home and at mother in laws place! This will be a nice break.

Head winds again I see! Oh well, noone ever said I would do well in this event. Getting to the final destination in one piece will be a win of itself!

Landed safely at 4S2. After getting to 7500 it eventually turns out that I had a nice tail wind for most of the flight. However, almost caught out when entering right base for runway 25 as the winds commended to change through almosty 180° and on final I had a 10 knot tail wind which made my landing, that I was already committed to, a tad dicey!

Now about to attach the required files to this a posting.

    DCA996 Round up series

    Departing 4S2 - looks like a 7 knot headwind.

    completed leg #3

Landed safe at Pangborn KEAT. Winds again changing dramatically on final approach. Considered going around but with high terrain around felt safer to me to continue with 7 knot tail wind since runway 25 was long enough for a long roll out.

    Good show here mate!

For a "Rookie" it looks like you've done this all your life.

Best of Luck on the rest of the journey ... hope we can "get up" for a flight or two.

7 knot quartering headwind until 15 miles or so from destination when, as seems to be the case with these flights, winds changed dramatically so I came in on runway 21R

The bottles of rum are still unopened but might consume at least 1 bottle during my next 5 days R+R in Paris. Flights resume for me on 16th May.

Not sure, but I think I remember hearing that you needed to have a patch over one eye in order to drink Rum in Paris .... could just be the effect of too much TV.

Crashed as had to leave aircraft on auto when someone called from out of town out of the blue. As a rookie it would be nice if I could have this as one of the mulligans.

Now about to fly this again once I have re-started FSX! :redf:

Landed safe at Jackson Hole. Had not adjusted the time on the departure and was getting concerned about a night time overflight of the moutains to the NW of the field. In a setting sun scene (very pretty with REX textures) and trying to stay below 10,000 for any length of time I found myself in a canyon witht just the one way out leading to the plain on which the airfield is located. A mighty relief to see they had runway lighting. Must remember to check the flight better before I set off so that I have not only a reserve of fuel but also daylight!

Landed safe at Page Municipal KPGA. Terrific terrain in this area with large canyons and deep set rivers/ravines. John Wayne country for sure!
