    Arrived safely at Furnace Creek. Took pity on this nice old couple and their 80-lb lab and brought them along. Hopefully the extra weight didn't cost me too much.

    It looks like Rob won the Duke prize for fastest time and most fuel used. Of course, he had to fly an extra leg to beat me on fuel.

    I think what got me was using some fuel econ measures on the first leg, and wasting time looking for Oxbow. All things considered, it was fun to learn a new plane.

    Yeah you were doin' the econ thingy at first... and I think the other thing - I was trying to fly when the winds were favorable (compare those last legs esp.).
