Thread: CavalierDuck Flies West

Arrived at KLAS. That must be the most straightforward flight of the trip so far. Long runways, unobstructed departure and approach, no big hilly things in the way.

Off to the blackjack tables for the evening - if I can make $10 last that long!

Setting out for the final weekend of the western trek. Leaving KLAS for L06.

After a few days delay due to illness, leaving L06 for 4SD / KRTS. Must have been the heat in Death Valley.

Arrived at 4SD / KRTS. Not a great time, there was a bit of headwind most of the way which is not what you want on a longer leg.

Firing up the Legacy for the last time at KTVL, next and final stop KSQL.

Weather looks ropey - rain, low cloud - should be an interesting climb out of the valley at Tahoe. Then it's low cloud again in the Bay area for the approach to KSQL.

Down at KSQL to complete my Western Roundup 2013. Cloud most of the way on the final leg, bit of headwind as well. Would have been good to finish in nice weather but you can't have it all. On the whole, the weather's been fairly kind to me so I can't complain.

A big "thank you" to the organisers for a great event, plenty to see along the way and some challenging flights to negotiate through the mountains. Thoroughly enjoyed it, hope everyone else did too.

Well done to everyone who completed their respective courses! :salute:

    Great run, Nick.

Looks like you edged Robert among the "prize eligible" runners. At the moment.
