Love the L-1011 and desperate for a -500 version for FSX BUT adding the $10.99 for liveries is just plain cheeky, bumping up the price of what would be included in most higher end payware packages to about $56, which is quite expensive for a lot of people.

I really wonder whether payware devs would make more money selling more units at lower prices but they are the experts, not me . .
Striker, listen, and you listen close: flying a plane is no different than riding a bicycle, just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes.

You're still getting 25 liveries included in the base pack. The $10.99 is just for the supplementary set.

Sorry, I didn't realise that. And presumably freeware repaints are possible. In that case it is now tempting my wallet . . !

There is a full paintkit included with the base pack. About 100Mb of PSD files.
There is an option to install the paintkit or not during the product installation.

    Not compatible with P3D ?

It will probably work, but at this point we haven't fully tested it.

Is that really good enough?. If the installer looks for fsx and doesn't find it what then.

Its about time that the installer is free to browse to the P3d Installation.

Then you install it in a folder anywhere and copy it over. It's not rocket science...

Well, personally I think it's perfectly good enough for a product that isn't sold as supported by P3D. You'll probably find it doesn't install into FS2004 either. Had it been made and sold for P3D then it would of course be fully equipped for P3D.

If you really want to install it into P3D then just create a text file in the root of the P3D directory and rename it to FSX.exe. That should allow you to use the installer to set the files up for you.
One note - you will need to copy the tutorial flights from the Just Flight\TriStar folder that appears in the root of P3D into your My Docs P3D folder, or just run the tutorial from the Start Menu which I think will still work fine even outside of FSX (if needed, of course).

The TriStar is surprisingly good on older systems, certainly not as demanding on FPS as a lot of other airliners.

It would appear that another developer has produced a Tristar
but it's not quite ready yet.

    Hi Martyn,

Can i please ask what's up with the Specular Lighting ? As far as i can see no Specular map has been added to the fuselage textures and for the wing textures it is way too much. Airliners should be gleaming in the sun but the L1011 looks dull despite the Reflectivity mapping. The designer seems to have added Specular only to the aft nacelles plating and horizontal surfaces.

The VC is nice but turns very dark when flying into the sun. Cockpit lighting looks great but doesn't work during the day.

    Nice model, great sounds !

    cheers,
    jan
